My real name is Onika Maraj i was born December 8, 1984 i am from Southside Jamaica, Queens, New York Despite my hectic environment i went on to graduate on from LaGuardia Highschool in Manhatten where i studied singing and acting i started by singing in from background vocals, to hooks for local rappers. I wanted to stand out more so i so i began writing raps and started out as the lone female in a group.
