This was superFUN!

This is by far the most fun I have had in VR so far, and I have played quite a few different titles by now. It really makes you feel like an action hero and I now feel like I know what Hotline Miami must have felt like for Jacket.

So, this is a VR shooter that doesn’t require any horizontal movement at all, just stand, crouch and try to avoid being killed while also trying to kill your targets. Time only goes when you move and the speed of time is controlled by your movement speed, so it is a lot about timing and twisting your upper body around to avoid bullets and hits.

This game runs super well, played for over an hour in my first session and felt no motion sickness at all. Hit registration both on you and the enemy is very forgiving, which helps make this a super fun experience for everyone. It is also a surprisingly good exercise, I actually felt a bit of muscle soreness after.

The levels are different from those in the nonVR version. Here the game will put you into tiny stationary scenarios where you have to complete a series of levels in a row without dying. This all works super well in VR and definitely was the correct approach. I also appreciate that this game boots up fast and that loading screens are almost instant.

Experiences like this is the reason I wanted a VR headset in the first place and I highly recommend this to anyone who hasn’t played it yet!
