If you're a huge souls fan or havn't played any of the games, this game is something you should definitly nab at least on sale. Otherwise not so much.

There's zero innovation. Zones are okay, but nothing exceptional to the older games, and some zones are just an annoyance. Bosses are roughly the same, you could like fighting them, but ultimatly you just learn their movesets and easilly dispatch of them eventually. The boss aldritch came close to being interesting, but was the same thing in the end.

Balance is complete trash. Poison does 3 damage a tick, damage is all over the place, using gems on weapons sometimes has no effect or nerfs the weapon. PVP is trash again with no innovation on previous titles, and covenants managed to be the worst in the series. Weapons like greatswords have lower dps than alternatives, expose yourself more, and don't even have the best crit profiles. You can evade a greatsword user for five minutes in pvp just getting in their face and dodge rolling if you watch out for kicks and not take a single hit.

If you want a themepark to kill some time in give it a go, but don't expect to be blown away.

Early Access Review
pros
+real time world is pretty good. Not super fleshed out, but it's there and interesting
+graphics are interesting
+trading and factions are better than in spaz 1, lots of voice acting and characters

cons
-the levelup perk system is much worse than spaz 1's skill tree
It's straight up less interesting and balanced, and it gives less choices.

-ship modification is signficantly worse
I havn't found anything like cloak, intertial engines, frames, or anything like that. You basically choose where to place guns and engines and that's it.

-strike craft system is much less complex and meaningful than in spaz 1
Strike craft also lost depth, you choose a frame and you can't even rebuild craft. It's basically just optional farming for a temporary distraction that's unreliable.

-you can't turn with mouse because ♥♥♥♥ you
No idea why this is the case.

-parts falling off in combat is annoying and random
This might have been interesting with more depth/choice in the movement system, but that's all gone now.

-less scale in battles
No space zombies and less drones leads to many less explosions than normal.

All in all, i'm dissapointed and i'm not sure what the devs worked on for 4 years. I sort of wish we just got a real time world expansion for spaz 1.

This game works as halo, and if you want to play halo with zombies then you're in for a lovely adventure. I've always wanted a halo pc game so it satiated me there. The game also will have lovely mod support, making it worthwhile.

Outside of that it's not actually a doom game and it barely works on pc with all the console optimization it has. Buy at your own risk.

-graphics
-it's actually massivelly pay to play. It's basically unplayable without vip status (15/month)
-dead game, dead community
+amazing skill trees, allows for all sorts of flavour builds, probably more than any other mmo
+what remains of the community is p chill
+game is mostly instanced, so the adventures/quests are much more interesting than your average mmos
+mountains of voice acting if you have vip

The best way to play this game would be two people getting membership and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ around with builds and doing coop. Don't go into this game solo or if spending 15-30 dollars a month is too much.

Across steam and my normal play i've only got around 1,000 hours in the game but I really enjoyed it.

CS:GO Review
If you have a lag stutter for ten seconds, the game dc's you and you get 0 dollars for a round or two, since ten seconds of lag can disable steam for three minutes. The bot AI will buy a glass cannon awp and then run into the enemy no matter how many or even if one person says to hold position. You can't surrender until your leaver gets the 5 minute pass and sometimes your autistic allies will try to make the game continue so that you lose rounds and derank more. It takes around 15 seconds after death to actuall be able to take control of the bot, and to top it all off the game has one of the most infamously bad hit registrations of any modern competetive fps.

They made the netcode in defualt matchmaking as absolutly terrible as it could possibly be. There are obscure indies that do netcode better than this game. If you don't plan to just play esea/cevo then avoid this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Broken gameplay and netcode, but still a must play due to atmosphere.

Although there are a ton of counter intuitive systems in the rpg system, it actually allows for a lot of flavor builds once you learn it, and the game has amazing replay value.

Just install dsfix, look up beginner tips, don't by crystal weapons/equipment, look up where to find weapons for your build, and look up how to run through the entire depths since it becomes a walking simulator if you need to cure curse.

Worth it on sale. This game excells in a few areas

Graphics - Not really amazing tech-wise, and I don't beleive there are modders getting wet over the thought of it, but the sets are really nice and the art style is really great, at least during most parts. From what i've seen it's great up until picus and then it goes downhill.

Gameplay- The stealth mechanics in this game are really good. You can throw grenades to distract, fire silenced weapons to distract, and a whole bunch of other mechanics. The rpg mechanics are really underwhelming however. Only a handful of the perks are useful. Some have things tacked onto the map, such as a place that can only be reached with a certain perk, and you would be rewarded with something like a machine pistol or sometimes nothing. The action also becomes a lot less fun, after the FEMA camp when nearly all the mobs get helmets and the lighter weapons become almost entirely useless.

OST- Soundtrack is really good, but it feels underused.

Story- Absolutly great. Tons of story related objects everywhere. Should give wiki editors a hard on.

So tl;dr, it's a really good stealth game with a nice story and art style, but it has low replay value outside of the story since the rpg and action elements kinda suck.

good if you have great friends like scioflop that play it.

It's mostly just weapon porn
