I had hoped that this group would have some life left in it beyond my departure, but unfortunately it seems like a dead group. I don't have a ton of words to say, just that in the years of history we've had I sincerely hope you all have had a positive experience here, and I am very sad to say goodbye to a group that has had so much lore, so many events and such a lifespan. I had wanted to create a new group - philanthrop/v/, at some point that was more focused on charity overall rather than just vidya, but it seems that time has come and gone.


Anyways, without stretching it out - thank you all for following through this group and the discord's drama, injokes, disorganization and overall just for joining us on this adventure. I hope everyone here has either gotten games or has gotten some hope from the anons helping us out. I love y'all, I wish I could do more for you all.


It's okay, I understand that we've lost alot of both gifters and people that were looking for vidya. I had more than a few people message me in dire straits asking for assistance or support, and I can genuinely say this group saved some lives. Melodramatic as that is.

For being a steam group based on a japanese imageboard, we've done alot of ♥♥♥♥ and I am sincerely and truly thankful for all of you participating and joining us on a journey that lasted far beyond what I ever expected.

Do me a favor - if there's anything you've taken away from your time here - just pay more attention to the people that share your hobby and try to help your fellow man when they need it. That's all.

Thank all of you that have been a part of this group for the years that we've existed. I truly feel that this group, the discord and all of the associated philanthropy has been a wonderful ride and I'm touched that so many people have told me and the other gifters contributing about how some of these small gifts have made their days, weeks and even months better.


This is the last year I'll be operating this group as I've said earlier. I sincerely and truly appreciate all of you following along on the adventure that giftan has been. Be it steam or discord or /v/ threads.

I am extremely lucky to have been able to be part of such a unique and truly powerful group. I know it's just video games, but I've seen what our gifters and beggars have gone through and I think this group existing has been truly beneficial to the world.

Hi Guys.

I'll keep this short.
I love that we've had ~7 years of giftan and fun times with the group, threads and discord, etc. But I've decided that with the decline in interest and participation in the group that I would like to end things on a high note and make this the last Christmas event that we do before I close this steam group. While we still have a solid amount of people in this group, I feel like I would like to end things in a fun and positive way rather than let our group sit idly dead in those things you joined a while ago and forgot about.

Those of you who have been around for my Christmas threads have known I usually go much more all out in those than the rest of the year, and this will be no exception. Last time my GF helped pick some winners and we've gotten people to post tub pictures and ♥♥♥♥... It's been a wild ride.

I don't want anyone to think these things are for attention or sympathy bait. Hell if things pick up I would love to continue the group and I've been told by many that they're glad they found us. We don't have the admin team we used to and we've had alot of change-ups in our rank and file in the past few years and my ability to contribute has dramatically and drastically reduced to a near zero.

If you would like to contribute to this year's Giftmas please let me know, I'll be organizing some stuff for the group exclusively that won't be in the /v/ threads or discord giveaways here soon. I wanted to get an advance notice so that we can make this not just a christmas giveaway, but a celebration of the threads by the many gifters, giftees and beggan bois that have appeared over the years.

We've lost a few of our major contributors, unfortunately. However, that does not mean we're not doing one of our annual Halloween giftan events! I've budgeted out a small amount for some "trick or treat" smaller giftan events with some grab bag goodies.... but we also have two bigger events! We will be running a "Giftan Costume Contest"! To enter, all you need to do is post a picture of your halloween costume with a timestamp saying "Giftan 2019!" to make sure you're not reusing an old costume. I have a small group of judges with me that will be deciding our favorite costume for 3 categories - Joke costumes, serious costumes, and creative costumes. All 3 categories will win a nifty prize! You could potentially win all 3!

As well, there will be a small /v/ thread with some codes up for grabs on or around thursday the 31st!
