I remember trying the demo a month ago and it was really rough...so, has it changed at all since?

So, I got back into the game after a while. In game, I remember upgrading the Range stat up to 9/10 but when I started a new game it was reduced to 7/10. That doesn't sound like normal to me.

I cannot select anything for upgrade after the end of each level with my xbox360 controller. The cursor keys work though. Also this problem does not occur in the upgrade section in the ship selection screen.
