Having trouble starting game

Whenever I click on play in the steam menu it automatically shuts down. Was wondering what I have to change to play the game.

Screen Resolution

Has anybody had issues with this only running on low resolutions? In game settings only allow a pretty low res, and I can't seem to open a full config file to change it there.
