I like the look, I like the genre and I like the character designs, but the repeating buzzword of "oppression" as the main antagonist linked with the design choices kinda have my SJW radar buzzing. I'm a likely buyer, but I'm not going to be preached to by a platformer. So help me out here. Is this a false alarm?...

so i've been super excited for this these last past days, but before i give in and buy it, i was wondering how... There is this room, where you stand on a platform and get shot at for about a minute, ascending to a special upgrade (if you got enough hearts that is). Now I got that, and when I use it... I have no idea what is happening. My salt ticks down, Dandara has a greenish aura an and that's about it. It's supposed to be some kind of ultimate power, that will punish me double, if I fail or something, so I don't feel like jumping into enemies. Can someone tell me what it does?...
