Honestly I thought it was a very fun game. Great community. Decent trinity mmo. It has gacha aspects but it really wasnt that deep to play free to play and do all of the real endgame content. Many people i know had multiple free to play account alts and were successful on them at endgame. The game was fun while it lasted. Today is the 2nd day after the release of the new item level cap for gear. Until now I was easily able to just find parties for running dungeons or que to join. Today all the ques were dead and the parties in global were few and far between. Game is dead.

There's a button that you press after you start the game that sets you to max level and gives you like mega gear. Don't waste your bandwidth downloading this garbage.

Blue Protocol: Star Resonance is a by-the-numbers anime MMO that doesn't do anything special to stand out. One of the game’s biggest highlights is the art style; it offers strong anime visuals, a colorful world, stylish characters, and pretty detailed environments. It also offers almost all MMO activities you'd expect: some world exploration, fighting world bosses, crafting, fishing, and dungeons/raids. The combat is also ok-ish, but nothing to write home about; it's action-oriented, and you get a handful of skills for each class.

But everything else about BP:SR is really dull and uninspired. The story is the most generic and clichéd stuff you can think about and puts you to sleep real fast (there's an option to skip most dialogue and most cutscenes, but reading any of the interactions is really tiresome - I've only completed the first 3 chapters of season 1, but it was more than enough to convience me that the game is garbage); all cutscenes look stilted and robotic, and the mouth animations are not synced to the dialogue; the story pacing is all over the place, and story beats feel hastily put together; activities around the world are just filler and feel repetitive fast; the world traversal is abysmal, it's slow and sluggish and none of the 3 mounts I got for free or any of the traversal skills available made it any more fun; controls in general (walking and in combat) feel unresponsive and there's always a delay to all your actions; the camera sometimes feels broken and you can't move it easily enough to see the world around you. Also, there's an instant level 60 boost for new players, which I found weird, but at least you can still progress through the initial story if you are so inclined. Plus, like in any Asian MMO, there are a billion different menus that you must open 1 at a time and collect every single reward manually (or at least I didn't find a Collect All button). The performance isn't great; I had FPS dips at times for no reason, and the game sometimes crashed after leaving it idle for 15-20 minutes. It also has a season pass (free and paid), a monthly subscription pass, and a cash shop. There are also multiple currencies, some of which I don't even know what they are used for and just make the game more confusing. I personally can't say if the game's P2W, as I got bored before reaching end-game, but from what I've read online, it's a very gacha-heavy MMO and feels more like a mobile MMO (the interface is also very ugly and very mobile-ish, and the UX is not great at all). On top of everything, there's also apparently time-gated content, which just feels like another nail in the coffin.

Overall, BP:SR makes a very bad first impression, and it doesn't do anything to make your stay in the world more fun. Actually, I feel like the more you play, the worse it gets.
