Astro Prospector is what I like to call an “active-incremental-game”.
The base mechanics works like an incremental game, gaining resources, updating a skill tree, and passively increasing numbers, to help with progression. As examples, more time per run, more damage, new ways of attacks, etc.

Astro Prospector has an incredible well designed progressing curve, the time it takes to gain resources feels fair! Not too easy and not too dragged out, the devs nailed that!

For the active part:
The game plays a lot like a bullet hell game. You control a small spaceship, destroy frozen coffee asteroids and space ships, send by an evil coffee monopoly to hold the liquid of the gods away from the people.
Every level concludes with a more or less difficult boss encounter before you advanced to the next one. This part depends on your skill. I’m personally not the best with bullet-hell style gameplay, but beside the final boss you can outpower the fights eventually.

The Story in these games doesn’t matter to much, but I’m glad that devs think of creative ideas, and Astro Prospector has one of my favourite hooks in the genre.
You mission is to bring coffee back to the people and fight the evil SpaceCorp. Which wants to keep the coffee as a monopoly. Which is unacceptable, as a fellow caffeine addict, I am in support of easy accessibly coffee for the people, to help them survive another day!

Really enjoyed my time with Astro Prospector and I can only recommend the game to anyone that enjoys seeing numbers go up, while being in active participant in the spectacle on the screen.

Great incremental game. Good for those who actually want to play the entire time instead of idling for half the game. The bullet hell style is super engaging and just challenging enough to make you feel good about weaving in between bullets. Worth every penny

A pretty good roguelite bullet-hell with incremental elements.
The style is very good, and feels fluid and coherent. There is some confusion (for me) as the screen becomes cluttered some hazards occasionally are hard to notice.
The upgrades are a mix of incremental +dmg along with mechanical changes, and they feel quite good.
Pacing is also quite nice, and it never feels too grindy or too quick. It's not perfect, and it comes close to those extremes (for me), but never really goes over the line.
It took me about 3.5h to finish the final level, and by that time I had most of the upgrades, which is fine. There is an endless mode, but I feel like I am satisfied with the game, and don't need to play more.

In all, it is a good few hours. I played off and on for a few days, and looked forward to another run.

After the first quarter, runs become a good length. For the first quarter runs are a bit too short, and feel unnatural.
