7.5/10 - a decent level

Really wanted to like this but it falls short, especially for the price. Feels early access/unpolished. The main gameplay loop starts frustrating because you don't have access to all the tools and the suddenly flips into tedious once you have too many tools. I'm maybe an hour away from completing the campaign but I just can't be bothered. (played maybe 8 hours - the number record is bigger because i left the game running because it only saves once every in-game day.)

Pros:
- neat idea
- interesting mechanics: I like the x-ray and the microscope, even the hammer. And I like the pulse/temperature mechanics
- voiced characters
- the quests/framing device is cute and engaging enough
- if you somehow enjoy the gameplay, there's an endless mode
- quarantine: i really don't like that you can't separate the survivors in quarantine, so if one turns, all die. But because everything else in the game eventually becomes meaningless it was the only resource I actually felt like I had to manage
- if for some reason you want to play a different game while playing this game, there's a mandatory man the turrets sequence every few days

Cons:
- very tedious. visual inspection is fun at first but becomes grueling with the scanner, even with the upgrades. There's no reason for the survivors to not just strip down to their undies imo. Random shadows and shading lines will sometimes flicker when using the scanner as; that just slows everything down even more.
- hard to see symptoms. this is probably intentional, but "green" is only ever yellow or purple. Is this person pale or is my flashlight on? Neat concept tbf but with how tedious visual inspection is it feels annoying rather than harrowing
- no way to log many harmless symptoms. which is very confusing because of how inconsistent it is. logging in general is a bit of a mess since the symptoms system is used for contraband
- too easy. despite how much of a pain inspection is, the only thing I was ever short on was science. Money was only ever and issue if I killed an innocent person. so I eventually started just letting everyone in unless i wanted to capture a zombie in the quarantine zone. Nothing bad ever happens so putting up with all the challenges inspection throws at you feels pointless after a while
- bugs:
- some infected are partially or fully asymptomatic leading to a "poor inspection" and associated consequences
- contraband inside people is miniscule and almost impossible to tell if it's a permitted item or not. i also wouldn't be surprised if internal contraband causes panalties even if confiscated but i guess i could just have kept missing some
- i had one survivor with an obvious infection turn out to be healthy and was penalised when I really couldn't afford to lose the money
- there's a quest that requires more than one day of time with the quest character almost always dying the next day ending the quest, so that was frustrating
- bit of a nitpick but by default the scroll wheel for the tools does not match up with the numbers assigned to the tools, does not match up with the order in which you unlock the tools

this has potential but i would not call it a finished game

Like the idea, but only 8 hours of content is not much. The endless mode is not really interesting after single player campaign, as you've already seen all the content and it is just repetition.

Under 10€, cool minigame. Higher than that, overpriced.

Also missing some of they keybinds. Plus you cant really rebind drone keys to same keys as movement, even though they are bound to wasd as default. Annoying for left handed people.
