No qualifying? No open online lobbies? Only 6 cars? Reused tracks from circuit superstars? This is an alpha release. Not even close to even being called a beta. CERTAINLY not a full release. I get that they just started this up but dude this is not even worth the space on my PC. Definitely not $25. Avoid until it's actually, ya know, an actual full release. This is sub-par at very best.

I dont understand Multiplayer, you need a code to join.
Make it with In-Game matchmaking.
Dont think many players wanna get thru the hassle to find a online match code.

I was really hyped for the game its fun but this is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥!

Coming from a Circuit Superstars fan, I love this game. I used to love playing their old game, but was not the biggest fan of the top down camera style.. this game fixes that entirely with the chase cam view. The art style is fantastic, and the racing just feels good. Top it all off with an actual little animated pit crew that changes your tires and fills your gas, and this game is quite cozy! The campaign mode is all I need to sit down and do a few races and enjoy my time on the game, however I they definitely need to add in more of a multiplayer factor since they have joined up with iRacing.

Like other reviews state: there is no open lobbies in this game (which is strange since iRacing is predominately a multiplayer experience). You can host your own lobbies with a code, but that's it. For me, this isn't a deal breaker, but I would absolutely love there to be more of a multiplayer experience. I'm talking a matchmaking experience for casual races, ranked races, open lobbies with a lobby finder, etc.

Some people seem irritated by the AI in this game and how they race: Essentially, higher difficulties just mean faster AI, less mistakes in lines they take, etc. They still DO make mistakes, but the higher difficulty ones have far fewer mistakes obviously. The developers had recently stated they updated the AI so they won't just outright ram or push you off the road to keep their line (as they apparently had when the game first released, though I never really noticed this), but they will still send it on the inside of you if you give them space and take a turn too slowly. Honestly, I don't have a problem with the AI, and feel like where they are at right now is pretty fine.

In the campaign mode you do unlock buildings that give you boosts that can make racing the hardest difficulty pretty trivial. However, you always have the option to NOT use any boosts and just race the AI how they are. I like that they give you this option, because I can generally experiment with different boosts to find a combination that makes the racing against the hardest AI engaging while not feeling impossible. As I progress and start to get better, I don't use as many boosts and then it becomes more fun while still being challenging.

There is also an option to hire AI team members that do races for you, so if you are in the campaign mode and you really don't want to race with the slow Fiat 500, formula junior, or touring cars you can send a driver to do the race for you. I haven't completed the campaign yet, as there are 7 seasons with multiple weeks of races (I think 13 weeks or something, each with 5 races or so each week), but being able to send an AI driver to deal with the slower races I don't enjoy is a plus for me.

Overall, the game is still fun and worth the $25 for me as something I can sit down with and enjoy with some music for thirty minutes to an hour because the races are quick with standard races being anywhere between 5-8 minutes and endurance races being around 15 minutes depending on your car. They also have a free play mode where you can adjust how many laps there are, how fast gas and tires are consumed, damage you take from other cars, etc.

However, there is much more content from Circuit Superstars they could have in this game to the point where others are valid to question the $5 higher price point. I am hoping those will get added in later as free content updates.. Also, would I think it would be more enjoyable with a fully flushed out multiplayer system? 1000% yes, and the developers have said they are aware of this and will be working towards more of a multiplayer system. However, if you are someone who does not enjoy primarily single player racing and don't have friends who have the game that you can race with, then I'd suggest waiting for them to update the multiplayer half of the game or wait for a sale.
