Fantastic Old-School 3D Action-Adventure game with some really clever enemy designs and attack patterns that make use of 3D Space in interesting ways. Also a gorgeous Low-Poly 3D tile-based diorama aesthetic.

Pretty interesting game so far. I am quite enjoying my time with it and will certainly beat it. I'm honestly not sure how to put into words how or why I enjoy it so much other than it is what it wants to be.

From an objective stand point there are plenty of aspects modern gaming would be annoyed with, with the top being secrets. This didn't perturb me that much as it usually guides you to the important ones pretty well.

What I think it captures most from older games that I miss most really is its confusing obtuse nature. Naturally games often did that in the past to lengthen games and sell guides. But in modern times when all answers are at your finger tips and you never need to feel confused if you use the right prompt. It is extremely comforting and nice to sit down with something that just lets you wander. You wander the world map, the individual menus, the towns and even the story wanders in your mind as sometimes text is nonsensical.

It's not often I am taken in by a feeling of nostalgia, but this game might have me feeling nostalgic for a feeling I wasn't even aware I missed. Just as the game gives you moments of reflection I too feel the need to simply stop and reflect.

This might be one of the best examples of an adventure games in indie games I've felt. Because to adventure is to wander and be faced with the unknown. I really have little idea what is actually happening in the game and what it really means currently.

Also some of the room design is straight masochistic lol. I do enjoy the challenge, but I can imagine people throwing their controllers at moments.

Unbelievably good, clever encounters around every corner. A game where it feels like you could run into or see anything at all times. 2 hours of Angeline Era is stuffed with the amount of wonder, joy, and challenge in 8 hours of a good game.
