So, the game itself isn't "bad" The story is fine, the atmosphere is good and all. The main problem comes from how it plays. For me personally it feels so clunky and the main reason is because it was orignially a port from the 3Ds which means it was made for hand held and not mouse and keyboard. On top of that, half the mechanics don't work for dodging and when an ennemy grabs you. The shake mouse dosen't work and dodging works 1/10 times which breaks the gameplay really especially the part where you have no weapons and have to dodge 20 ennemies. On top of that the game is almost entirely on a ship which is boring as hell. What made me quit was all those things combine ON TOP of the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ puzzles where you have to re wire things to open doors that one made me uninstall because of how annoying it is.

On a last note, it's more of a love or hate game. Some like it some don't either way it's worth giving a try if you get it on sale. The sequel Revelations 2 is way better and completely different from this one

Resident Evil Revelations was impressive on the 3DS... but on other platforms? Not so much.

On the 3DS, this felt like a small miracle. On PC and consoles, it mostly just feels rough. Even with upscaled textures, the visuals are hard to get excited about. The environments and character models have that awkward in-between look where they are no longer impressive technically, but they are not stylized enough to age gracefully either.

The gameplay is not especially inviting, either. It is not terrible, but it never feels particularly sharp, satisfying, or memorable. Worst of all, it kind of butchers Jill's character. She barely speaks, feels extremely wooden, and just is not inspiring here. It does not feel like Jill Valentine so much as a bad actor cosplaying as Jill Valentine. That might sound harsh, but she comes across as strangely lifeless in a game that really needed her to carry a lot of the narrative weight.

So in the end, Resident Evil Revelations has rough graphics, a weak story, and ho-hum gameplay. Ouch.
