Gamepad doesn't work.

Yup, another problem with another game that would never happen with a console... *mumble mumble* My Xbox controller won't work, when it goes to the title screen and says "press anything" I press A on my controller, it proceeds to the main menu then... nothing, no buttons work on my controller. Tried confguring it in the options, same thing happens, it works up until the main menu. Help?...
