IGNORE THE BAD REVIEWS THIS IS A GEM!

When I first looked into Gray Zone Warfare, I was honestly unsure if I should buy it. I saw some mixed and negative reviews and wasn’t sure if the game was ready waited a couple days to think about it. But after jumping in and giving it a real shot, I can say this: ignore the hate this game is a gem and it's only in early access!

Let’s start with the price it’s totally fair for what you’re getting. You’re not dropping $60+ here, but you're getting a massive open-world tactical shooter that feels genuinely immersive and rewarding. The graphics are beautiful once you are in game, looks almost real.

About the different editions of the game. Yes there are bonuses to getting the better editions but you really only get inventory space with those and supporting the devs. The inventory space is nice but not needed to have fun you can still hold plenty without the more expensive editions, at $35 this game is a steal for the amount of time you can spend in it, the map is massive and I’m writing this review at 35-40 hours ish and still have only been to not even half the map. Half the reviews on the different editions are negative because the players claim to not receive the gear after the dlc purchase, DON'T LISTEN TO THEM, you get the gear it but it does not just appear in your inventory, you need to go to the vendor and claim the gear through the in game chat system with the vendor.

There’s plenty to do missions, exploring, looting, surviving and it all feels intense without being overwhelming. That being said, playing solo is great but I would recommend having one or two friends with you, it just makes it so much better, you can revive and heal each other and help each other with missions, just have someone to talk to.

The weapon customization system is very detailed, sometimes a little too much since it will take you a bit to understand and get the hang of. You can build your loadout exactly the way you want, down to the sights, flashlights, lasers, scopes, barrels, grips. Plus, once you start leveling up and getting the hang of things, you start getting gear that makes the game fun, gear and guns that are what you want. No lengthy grinding to get some stupid pistol or some ar that sucks.

The game is surprisingly easy to get into. The systems are detailed, but they’re intuitive. I didn’t need to spend hours watching tutorials just playing and learning as I went felt natural.

Now let's talk about the AI since everyone is complaining about it, yea it can hit hard. Sometimes you’ll get one-shot and it’ll sting. But honestly, if you’re paying attention and not peeking the same corner ten times, you’ll be fine. It actually makes you think before moving, and that’s part of what makes it fun. It's not too hard but also not a breeze where you can run around and mow everyone down, it's just the perfect tactical feel, you feel like you are actually there.

The open world is another huge win. The world is beautiful, immersive, and makes every trip out feel like an actual mission. Using helicopters to get around is a cool touch, and while I’d love to see maybe 1–2 more helicopters per faction to reduce wait times, the system itself is smart and adds to the experience.

Now, the only real downside I’ve felt and this is more of a bad design decision is that you can’t play with friends on other factions unless someone wipes their character, which sucks if you already started playing and have gear. I really hope they allow PvE to be cross-faction at some point, because this game would be even better if it didn’t limit co-op like that.

But overall? Gray Zone Warfare is 100% worth it. It’s already a blast, and with the way the devs are updating and listening to the community, I can’t wait to see where it goes. If you're even slightly interested in extraction mil-sim shooters, give this one a shot.
