Dark Souls.
I was first introduced to this game by a very good friend of mine, who had discovered it more or less by accident and who had absolutely fallen for it.
He bought it for me and made me play it. At first I didn't really enjoy it too much. It was frustratingly hard, the controls were wobbly, the mechanics confusing and the Game didn't strike me as very special.
My friend was basically a scholar of Dark Souls. He knew the place of every item, every secret, every pathway, so I was not really alone while playing it, I was being dragged along more or less.

That was untill I allowed it to drag me in. Dark Souls contains a certain spirit that has become so very rare in gaming in recent years, this spirit of a journey. You struggle, you improve and you move on, through a world filled with so much detail and atmosphere you I often found myself staring in awe. From the way your equipment works, to magic and close combat. Everything ties into this atmosphere. Even the multiplayer, where other players may ambush you or aid you, all tied into the deep and rich story of the Dark Souls universe.
Dark Souls is much less a game than it is an experience. Its something that sticks with you, not just the first installment but all of them. Every place in this world is one that sticks with you, be it because of struggle, or because of the great time you had with your friends. Countless hours of fighting, laughing, raging, stupid ♥♥♥♥ I did with my friends, in short: Memories. This game creates memories at every single turn. And when you arrive at that final boss fight, after having gone through all this hardship, you truly feel like you are at the end of a grand journey. Finishing this game much feels like finishing a good book. Its difficult to describe. Especially with friends it feels like completing a journey, an adventure with them. It feels like so much more than just a Game.

A year later I found myself venturing through the second installment, fighting with my friends, creating various characters with various ridiculous builds for the laugh of it, just for the look on the face of the guy we summoned for Pvp.
This Game and the sequels it had are masterpieces and I recommend everyone to buy it, preferably with a friend.

I bought this Game on Sale for 3 Bucks.
And what can I say, I expected a few hours of good hack and Slash fun.
And I got a LOT more.
The Game is very long, packs a quite interesting story and addicting Gameplay, awesome Characters, hilarious dialogue and overall an awesome Experience.
Id say it was definitly worth 3 Bucks, and I probably would have payed more for it.

I literally lost 80% of the time cuz my piece of ♥♥♥♥ horse went "urf urf" all of a sudden and one enemy stole my crown.
Didnt matter if I had an Empire at home or a Bonfire with a few archers wanking about, but when that ♥♥♥♥ happens its game over.
Id suggest some sorta mechanic where you have like 5 Days to build a sizeable Army to get your crown back or something but that ♥♥♥♥♥ just stupid.

Still recommended tho.
