I paid ~$20 and got ~40 hours of entertainment. I can't complain with that. Managed to get 37 of 44 achievements, played through each of the games and the expansions.

The new episodes were good. Enjoyable.

Heretic clearly got the bulk of the love here, and that's fine with me. All the maps have been reworked slightly, new textures, new music. Hexen got 'blocking' for the Cleric and an 'X' on the map for where you're suppose to go.

I enjoyed my time here, but... if I'm honest I'll probably go back to GZDoom. My copy of Heretic is tweaked pretty hard with some fantastic visual and audio mods.

I got a bit motion sick playing this version of the games too. Something to be aware of if you suffer from motion sickness like me.

I'm not sure what the game was like at launch, and I'm not sure what people were expecting. Fair enough it might have been a broken mess filled with broken promises.

For me though, at a heavily discounted price it was "FarCry: Vampires". I enjoyed wandering the town, collecting loot, and killing both humans and vampires. The story was 'okay', yeah the cutscenes looked unfinished, but whatever, I wasn't really playing the game for the story.

For what it's worth I enjoyed my time with game. I had one crash to desktop in nearly 40 hours and the odd minor 'bug' with an enemy not animating correctly, but it was pretty few and far between. I also played the entire game 'Offline' so I can't comment on Online / Co-op.

If you can pick this up for ~$10-$15 USD and enjoy running around maps finding all the 'collectables' you could do worse.

I completed the game as Jacob and suspect I'll come back and play this again in the future with another character.

With a fantastic 'retro' aesthetic (visual and audio) but modern UI, controls, and sensibility SKALD: Against the Black Priory is a fantastic RPG adventure. With strong Ultima vibes, subtle pop-culture references, and a Lovecraftian narrative, I found myself thoroughly enjoying the adventure from beginning to end.

At launch Payday 3 is a fantastic foundation upon which to build. Payday 2 went through a long development journey and I feel that the discerning eye can see a similar future in store for this third entry.

While I admit the always online aspect of the game can be annoying at times, it is sadly the inevitable future of gaming, and despite some odd wait times to find a lobby for a single player, doesn't really impact my enjoyment of the game itself.

While there are only eight heists at launch, they all have a fair amount of meat on the proverbial bone, and aside from one, all sport both loud and stealth options. What is really interesting is that the loud path and the stealth path are typically very different from each other, at one point even completely changing the loot objective.

A casual glance at the skill tree isn't enough to actually appreciate what's on offer here. There are some really clever and neat interactions if you take the time to actually read and experiment.

Weapons do feel a little weak admittedly, but to be fair I haven't upgraded many of them yet.

Level progression is a little grindy, but, let's be honest I remember grinding infamy for weeks in Payday 2. Grind is nothing new to Payday, and something I personally don't mind.

Assuming the servers and online play get a little TLC and stay strong I have no problems recommending Payday 3 to lovers of the series.

If you enjoy titles like Viscera Cleanup Detail, PowerWash Simulator or Train Station Renovation, WW2 Rebuilder is definitely worth a look. If you're also interested in geography, history, and in particular World War II then this is definitely worth a purchase.

No timers, no pressure, explore various locations around the world helping repair the damaged caused by both the Allies and the Axis. Plenty of history, story, and atmosphere here, complimented well by the musical score. While the objectives are largely straight forward (although slowly increasing in challenge), there is also plenty of hidden things to be found.

But hey, if you don't believe me or still aren't sure then why not download the free demo and find out for yourself?

My only hope is that the passionate developers continue to create content for this title in the form of both free and paid DLC.

Early Access Review
It's early days and early access but if you enjoyed Thief: The Dark Project or Thief II: The Metal Age then you'll feel right at home here. Big levels with many, many nooks and crannies to explore. Hidden treasure, secret areas, forgotten lore, coupled with plenty of sneaking, skulking, and backstabbing.

Many of the textures look akin to those classic 8-bit textures we saw in the original Thief, along with a few eerily familiar low-poly door knobs.

Gloomwood is still very definitely it's own game, but with an extremely strong nod to Thief.

Only about 3-4 hours of content presently, but from what I've seen already I'm confident this is going to be one not to miss.

Early Access Review
Played (and streamed) this for four hours today and I really had a lot of fun with it!

The game is more of a stealth/loot title much like Thief or Dishonored than it is any kind of 'boomer shooter'. There definitely is shooting but if you get too carried away you're likely to get swarmed and killed.

The game does feature 'Rogue' elements (you can't save) but I don't feel it's too punishing, this coming from someone who typically doesn't enjoy 'Rogue' games.

The map is large and exciting to explore and there are plenty of dramatic and tense moments while playing the game.

I didn't experience any crashes during my play time and the only 'bugs' I encountered were spelling mistakes.

I feel the price is fair, and I'm certain I'll get my monies worth. I look forward to playing (and streaming) the game more next week, and I look forward to the finished game.

IF you enjoy 'Horde Shooters' and Aliens then this is the game for you. If you don't like 'Horde Shooters' but love the Alien universe, this probably isn't the game for you.

You'd be forgiven for thinking that Days Gone is an Ubisoft title, it shares many common traits with Assassin's Creed and the FarCry series. And for me, that's a good thing. I'd also compare Days Gone to Mad Max from Avalanche Studios.

Travel on your motorcycle completing missions, finding crafting materials, exploring ruined buildings and dark caves, fight hundreds of Freakers (Zombies) at once, take down enemy human camps, all with a fairly decent storyline that while not entirely original will still tug on a few heart strings.

Some players have reported bugs and other issues, I refer you to the forums for more on that. For my part I only encountered one near the end of the game with missing walls and floors, restarting the game seemed to fix the problem.

A quick Google search revealed that the average playthrough for Days Gone to be 30-40 hours, my initial playthrough was 57, and that was with me rushing the last few missions and most definitely not trying to find everything and do everything. I'm now playing again on New Game Plus.

A thoroughly enjoyable game with good visuals, excellent sound design, suitable music, plenty of ambience, and an gameplay loop that isn't new or original but just manages to avoid being dull with a myriad of interesting locations to explore. The game looks good even on Low settings (although I played on Very High) and seems reasonably well optimised.

I picked up my copy for only $45 AUD (A saving of about $30), which is an absolute bargain at that price point. If you pick it up at ~$75 you probably wont be disappointed, at a discounted price though it's a real bargain.

If you're a fan of any of the games I mentioned up top, then this is a no brainer. You will enjoy Days Gone.

I was looking for another 'casual' game to play and literally bought this on a whim due to it's appealing visual aesthetic.
Wasn't disappointed.

The focus of the game is drilling with some lite base building elements. It features a bangin' techno/drum & bass soundtrack, and some pretty cool 2D graphics.

On the $1 = 1 Hour Gameplay ratio I like to work with I've already hit 20 hours and I suspect I've got another 20 in me until I'm somewhere around completion. So well and truly satisfies that criteria.

If you're looking for a light, fun, casual game that isn't an idler/clicker definitely check Galactic Mining Corp out.
