I want to preface my comments by saying that the following is my opinion based on my personal experience gained by playing the game for many hours. It may not be your experience and you may not agree, and I accept that. But this is how I feel about this game.

The core of this game is based on a PVP Turn by Turn Card Strategy game. There are add on peripheral games such as Alliance Wars, Heli Racing and a sickening daily sexual encounter with a virtual girl Lucy (I absolutely detest this element of the game IMHO it should be removed).

I do play because I am drawn to the PVP element and the process of collecting and developing the "card" characters, called Mercs. But make no mistake, progress in this game is solidly based on the exchange of USD for enhancements. Some of these packs cost as much as $499 USD!!!

The game apprears to be subject to a lot of mods (cheating?), in one Alliance I joined, there is a player who is able to complete 10 heli tasks in 90 minutes. I cannot work out how they are doing it. It takes me hours and hours to complet that many. Then there are the de-rankers, high level players who start PVP battles then surrender in order to drop ranks then smash lower level players for additional resources. And in the Alliance Wars I've witnessed other alliances appear to immediately and automatically place just enough additional troops to counter what the Alliance I've joined has sent into battle. None of these might actually be cheating/mods but from my position they sure do look like it.

Within the game there are vitual "Roulette Wheels" that look more like a poker machine and "randomly" decide what you have won. Only thing is, they are reliably predictable if you only make a single "spin". If you save up all your spins and do them at once, the result is a little more random. I've taken this up with support and they appologised that I wasn't very lucky.

A new commander costs 4999 emerix gems, which you might be able to earn in the game if you never use what you earn and forgoe task completion and enhancing your squad. But to buy this amount of gems is more than $100 USD and I've discovered that once you're inside Level 10, the free commanders really start to struggle. I can advance but at a snails pace and only by really honing my choice of mercs to work with the commander I have. But I am finding that the de-ranked higher level players and/or players who can afford the better paid for commanders often wipe me off the board like dust.

Due to "adult" content the game is not IMHO fit to be played in public. I have suggested to support that a feature be added to toggle on/off a modesty setting so the game will not offend anyone gawping over your shoulder on the bus or train etc. Later in the year I will be travelling abroad and this game will not be travelling with me, it's just too risky for public places.

However, despite all this I enjoy the challenge, strategising and thought processes required to collect, develop and assemble a winning team of mercs for the PVP module of this game. Is it going to take a long term place in my gaming archive alongside DOOM, QUAKE, Counter Strike etc, yes I am that old, NO it won't, but for the moment the strategising element is keeping me entertained.

Wonderful game, continually evolving. Nothing like Pokemon. This game is deep, complex but not too challenging. It's fun and easy on the brain. You can focus on the aspects of the game that you enjoy.

Seriously! What are you waiting for. Most fun I've had out of all the doom games so far, and I started with version 1 all the way back on floppy disk. Yes, I'm ancient. Takes a bit of time for an old fart like me to get used to all the keys, but I'm not dead yet. Simply having a ball.
