+ : Great concept, the addition of coop is spot-on, not so much a horror game but very intense

Unfit for competitive imo, but a great game, especially fun with friends. Spooky and stressful when you're a newer player. Community is immature and salty af but it just adds to the fun; and it boosts your ego to have survivors spam "cheater" in post-game lobby after you 4k them legit.

Sadly the trailer is kinda misleading, because this is anything but a combat/survival type of game. And yet it is a gem in a seriously underrepresented category of story-driven, atmospheric titles.

Sunless Sea's universe is eerily fascinating and the storytelling is one of the most compelling I've ever met in a game.

Sunless Sea feels really as if a board RPG had a video game baby with a gamebook. If you're into that stuff, you must definitely give it a try!

The cons :
- No official translations available at the moment, you better be fluent if you want to enjoy it to its fullest because the texts are written in seriously formal English
- The exploration phases are veeeeeery slow at the beginning and get really tedious after a while, when you have already died several times and you already kinda know the lay of the land
- Can feel grindy at times especially if you're trying to be successful on your first captains
