I came for a Vampire Survivor's clone, I stayed for a really special take on the genre. It has a lot of elements of Vampire Survivors and Risk of Rain but also surprisingly QUAKE and Source. The game got elevated so hard after I realized that it has airstrafing, bunny hopping, and damage surfing, and I would not be surprised if there is trimping in this game as well

This isn't a job sim, it's a power fantasy. Dirt vanishes into the ether when cleaned, you don't need to worry about water, customers, getting scammed, or anything. Just pressure wash, and just the best parts of it. I feel like a have a button connected directly into my dopamine centers. Help

Incredibly fun climbing game. Highly recommend turning on "manual limb control" and setting it to dial, the automatic limb control is pretty bad an NOT to be trusted on most complex climbing sections, often making nonsensical limb selection. With manual control though, it's really good

Ridiculously fun with friends, it's basically a mixture of League's Arena mode, Supervive, and smash Bros. You do not need to be good at MOBAs despite the resemblance, as things are pretty straightforward. It's also got a sort of comeback mechanic type of design to how the upgrades are distributed, so Even if a friend is getting wrecked, they'll start getting pumped full of power-ups.

As far as I can tell it's monetized simply through skins and honestly I think it's worth it just off the really good times I've had so far with it lol

I got it for free, but honestly I would not have bought this. It lacks nearly any game-feel other than a bit of screen shake, but the melee weapons don't even do that much. The enemies have basically no satisfying sounds or visuals to killing them, the guns have like 1 sound each, and it's not even a particularly good one. It just makes me feel numb and autopilot.

A bit buggy so standard for BHVR, but a very nice faithful recreation of Springtrap, with a bit of fan design (like him having a fire axe in fan animations and games, so having one here). Is gameplay is solid and never really feels too oppressive, and he's just actually really interesting to play.

The gold standard for a Rimworld DLC. It integrates into the main game so naturally that it feels weird remembering it's not actually base game sometimes.

It's also one of the few DLCs that feels appropriate for any player regardless of how much they want to mod (useful consideration for Royalty and especially Ideology) or whether they are planning on getting into the late game (important to anomaly). And if you do choose to mod or go to the late game, there is a lot to do and see, and the system around children really allows for that generational type of gameplay that's lacking in the base game.

Ultimately I'm very satisfied with how out of the box this DLC works, it doesn't need to be heavily supplemented with mods, and you don't need to learn and engage with every system in a front loaded manner for the most part. Highly recommend this as your first DLC!

I am so back and forth on this DLC. The biggest problem is that ultimately it is so barebones by default that you can cover them most of its ideology system functionally with just scenario editing in the base game and mods.
It honestly feels like if Biotech was just gene editing, so no no children, pollution, or mechinators. It mostly feels like a framework for mods with how barebones it is, as well as a bit of a texture pack.
I know it can be unfair to compare Rimworld expansions heavily to mods, but the problem is that no other expansion really relies this heavily on mods to flesh it out.
There's obviously also the slavery mechanic but ultimately it kind of just feels like way more work than just recruiting colonists with the rather low amount of interactions you can have.

Ultimately I would highly recommend only getting this on sale and with mods, and I really think this DLC should only cost like $10 or $12, as while I am fine with the pricing of other expansions this one is just the least amount of stuff compared to the others.

Unfortunately it simply won't launch. It tells me "driver detect is 0.0.0, please update drivers". They are up to date, and I've tried ensuring integrated graphics are disabled, but no dice. Only game I have that's like that, I assume it has something to do with the ending of support. Hopefully this gets fixed in the future.

Edit: if you have the same issue just convert your windows to UEFI lol
