Garry's Mod was the game that got me into PC gaming. I've always loved the freedom to do whatever I pleased.

Though, I mainly use Garry's Mod as a tool to hang out with friends now, I remember spending hours upon hours just building contraptions. I joined way back in GMod 9, which in my opinion, was the golden age of contraption building. Now it seems that most people only play GMod to roleplay or minge around on a sandbox server.

Though, I still use GMod for things other than building. In fact, due to the death of the contraption community, I've been spending a lot of my time around Roleplay servers (when I'm actually playing GMod.) Mainly what I've been doing is PAC, however.

All in all, it's a great buy. Especially with the low price. The community can be a bit elitist at times, but don't let that discourage you. Unless you're into creating content for the game, I'd stay away from content producers. They tend to be very rude to people they perceive as "new to the game".
