EDIT - Rug pull of a game. It’s Destiny 2 2.0 / Destiny 3. Endgame content will be MMO-like raids. Stay away if you wanted something between Arc and Tarkov. Gonna be time gated as well, that’s the worst part.

Loving it, especially the aesthetics. Gunplay is great, the story is interesting so far, the sounds in all forms in the game are great (except some sounds/audio cues could do with better directional audio). Matches can get very intense, and the game incentivizes not sticking in one place too long with increasing amounts of UESC AI spawning at POIs, with harder and harder enemies. If you like FPS games with PvP, definitely give this a go.

There’s a lot of negativity surrounding this game, and a lot of it is unwarranted. A lot of people are wishing failure upon it. I am usually the first to validate someone’s criticisms when it comes to games, but a lot of what I see is overboard.

But, to be fair, there are also some valid criticisms, like some bugs here and there, some real lack of creativity in skins for weapons and shells, with most (even premium ones) being just reskins or recolors (this doesn’t bother me, like most other live service, better skins come with time usually). UI can be a little clunky, but it does look good IMO. Just needs some work. I don’t believe pings by you or your teammates show up on the compass. Game launched with solo queue and a trio queue, but no duo queue.

And this one just baffles me, stickers and charms can only be applied to a single weapon at a time. I don’t think I’ve ever played a game that treated minor cosmetics like those in this way. Why?

But those are, for the most part IMO, things I can overlook or that I believe will be fixed with time. Or they don’t really hamper gameplay or experience in any shape.

Either way, for $40, I can’t recommend this enough if you like extraction shooters and tight gunplay and (in my opinion so far despite not trying all maps yet), well designed maps (not just from an aesthetic perspective).

Thoroughly recommend

I am maybe about a quarter? A third? Of the way through the game, "main story" that is. I can't even technically tell what's main story v side content yet. It doesn't exactly distinguish between quests in that way. There's a lot of side quests and content to do and a lot of exploring, hidden things and oddities to find. Tons of characters to talk to, lore to learn and worldbuilding to glean. Exploration is rewarded very, very well!

Awesome depth when it comes to build variety and how different each weapon type plays (I can't stress that enough). Combat is very fun, and some encounters feel like puzzles to solve, not necessarily where there is a single correct answer, but that in you may need to take advantage of certain abilities you might have to push things more in your favor. It rewards thinking, and even forethought. Stealthing around to figure out how to take advantage of the environment, enemy placement, etc is very fun and VERY useful. Planning what grenades / utilities to put in your quickslots, maybe you expect to face robots, so you put an EMP grenade in a quickslot?

This is also one of a few games where I don't feel like I am "cheesing" to take advantage of mechanics or weapons in the game. For example, throwables such as grenades. They are extremely powerful, but the game is very balanced around that fact, without making other things or weapons useless to make up for them being strong.

You're very encouraged by the game to use/take advantage of every tool it places before you / every tool your build is made to use.

Overall, extremely fun game I will be playing for a good while longer. Absolutely worth the price, MAKE SURE to get the DLC, especially heavy duty if you want to use the big boi weapon types.

If you like cRPGs, especially post apocalyptic ones, definitely pick this up.

Although, don't expect modding of any kind, or the game / Dev to be friendly towards modding. Dev detests people modding his game for whatever reason.

I can’t believe the bastards did it…

Bug free as far as I can tell so far, only had 1 crash so far, and it was in MP, has decent flavor for a paradox release, great mechanical depth, all sorts of different ways to take your playthrough and fun things to tinker and experiment with.

I am actually surprised they’ve managed this, I was fully expecting this to be either lacking in depth in some ways, lacking in flavor majorly, or super buggy. It’s none of those things.

The bastards actually did it…

Don't recommend for full price, however on sale I feel it's a good enough monster tamer game. Is a bit short, a bit easy, and while the graphics and art style do lend itself to nostalgia, they can feel repetitive, especially coupled with the lack of variety in the soundtrack.

It can be a little too easy to miss where to go at some points, and a few times where exactly to go flat out isn't clear. A few items/mechanics you unlock, by the time you unlock them are basically completely useless or just unnecessary.

Still feels a little rough around the edges in some ways, but overall a fun game!

I am The Roboticist, Captain of this expedition. My chapter is in ruins, the sector is at war. Its worlds under siege. The Goo spreads, consuming us all.

Here, we will make our final stand. Here, there will be... Glory!

A lot of fun so far, and quite challenging! Doesn't feel unfairly so, however. Sometimes projectiles can feel a little overwhelming, but that's why it's a bullet hell! Perhaps on the earlier levels maybe projectile speed could be toned down a bit.

My only real complaints so far is some aim assist would be nice for controllers, and the hitbox of certain walls and areas should be looked at, as it's fairly easy to get caught on or around corners notably in the passage between areas. When passing into the new area and the bars drop down, the bars aren't flush with the corner where it meets the wall and I've gotten caught there (and died) a few times now. Also enemies can sorta completely go incognito in certain regions as certain things have no collision for enemies or you (like a pile of bones) so the enemy can kind of be hiding behind some stuff and still be shooting you, and you aren't sure from where.

Has a whole slew of weaponry to unlock and test, a whole slew of buff items (whiskey) to unlock and test, and a decent amount of "outfits" which are more then cosmetic, basically being new characters in most ways.

I definitely recommend, especially for the price!

Feels closer to Pokemon in a mechanical sense more so than Temtem does IMO.

Good monster designs, neat moves to use, fun abilities to abuse, things to collect, teams to experiment with and skins to customize (earnable, also both for your character and tasteful costumes for Coromon themselves)

My only complaint thus far is the lack of dual typing, and the overall lack of types. There's only 7 types for Coromon to be (sorta kinda 8). There are also a further 6 types that are restricted to Coromon moves only. In my opinion this ends up feeling a tad restrictive and repetitive.

Decent and fun game. Still not really on the level of PD2, but I'm of the belief that will naturally happen with time, as PD2 didn't get to where it was overnight.

For the price, I feel it's absolutely worth it, especially if you can grab it on sale.

Amazing game, feels like one of the most modern (yet not handholding) retro inspired shooters I've played. Sound design is amazing and along with that the music is awesome, level design is cool and awesome being open enough to feel rewarding to explore with plenty of side areas, secret areas, things to interact and look at, etc while being closed off enough to not let the player get lost as if they are in a maze.

AI is really fun to fight and can be argued to be the best thing about the game, with AI that seemingly work together based on their strengths and actively flank you and try to box you in and in general, not give you room to breathe. Also really cool how enemies sometimes give you a hint by communicating their intentions a bit more out loud sometimes.

So far with what weapons I've seen for 5 or so hours in, they feel GREAT to shoot with good, punchy/meaty sounds that really aid in letting me know just how much damage I'm doing.

I 100000% recommend this game, especially if (like me) you are a fan of Perfect Dark. I've read a lot of people compare it to Half-Life and F.E.A.R., both games of which I don't have much experience with so I can’t speak to the level of similarities in that regard, but this reminds me a lot of Perfect Dark mechanically in a lot of ways, and also in presentation.
