Let me say this, as one of the rare few (as of writing!) that has completed this game, played Early Access, and has played previous Larian games.

If you are fond of classic RPGs of old, you will not be disappointed. If you are a Dungeons and Dragons player, you will not be disappointed. The very few marks I have for this game relate to bugs and technical issues that I have encountered the first 2+ weeks past launch. I don't have enough experience to really explain or critique technical issues, but as a long time RPG fan and a very experienced Dungeon Master, here's some things I want to note and celebrate:

For Classic RPG fans:
+ Complex, compelling story
+ ENORMOUS amounts of choice
+ Extremely satisfying difficulty modes, Tactician is my favorite
+ Incredible amounts of love and dedication by the studio, I cried BECAUSE of the end credits
+ Enjoy blowing your companions up with fire!
+ Enjoy blowing your co-op players up with fire!
- Some choices feel railroady, 'why can't I convince X to do X when I could for literally any other decision?'
- Shoving and pushing people off cliffs feels great, until your enemies do it to you ALL THE TIME.
- You will have to watch some characters you love die, prepare to quick save OFTEN

For DnD fans:
+ Faerun fans get everything they could ever want EVER
+ Incredibly lore and history relevant plot and campaign
+ Matthew Mercer
+ Your favorite classes, bad tabletop metas (Warlocks, Monks) redeemed
+ So many hot and interesting characters to romance!
- If you can't commit to a DnD campaign, you probably can't commit to a full run through of this game with friends.
- Too many hot and interesting characters to romance!
- If you care about established DnD canon (nerd), Faerun as you know it will change significantly because of this game and the choices you make. Characters that previously existed in this world relate to this as well.

As someone who didn't generally care much about the Forgotten Realms before playing this game, it explained the setting really well. I hope this inspires people to play Dungeons and Dragons and try tabletop roleplay for a spin! For those interacting with Larian games for the first time, I highly recommend you watch the end credits. Every person on that team made it a labor of love, and how they expressed it from start to finish will make you cry.

From the bottom of my heart, Larian, thank you for making this game. Thank you for Divinity Origin Sin 1, a classic that helped me find my love for RPGs again. Thank you for Divinity Original Sin 2, a game that my girlfriend and I bonded over as I accidentally kept taking all the loot and blowing eachother up. And thank you for all the changes you made over the course of Early Access. I had the pleasure of watching these characters transform from loveless squids-to-be into people who need eachother.

Faerun's newest heroes are here (if they can stop ogling Karlach's muscles)!

Gods help us all.

Early Access Review
Realm Royale, at this stage, has a lot going for it for anyone seeking more engaging battle royale games. If you are not a fan of games like Fortnite or Battlegrounds, this game probably isn't for you. But if you're looking for more in-depth gameplay, interesting twists on the still burgeoning hallmarks of battle arenas and better map variety then you will certainly have fun with this game.

What makes it good:
-Uses of Classes and Abilities allows for variety of play. Each has their own basic mobility move, while you can go out and hunt for more abilities that plays to the strengths of your class. Not only is it good variety, but allows for coordination with teams and duos.
-The implementation of shards gives you good reason to keep searching chests and crates, as you can go to the Forge and make potions, abilities and legendary armor for yourself. The forge adds risk and additional objectives on the map, potential hotspots for combat.
-Mounts and how easy it is to use them. Some people might not like the ability to quickly get across the map, as it might detract from the use of the Fog, but I think it just speeds things up and allows for more expedient ways to get back into combat.

What needs improvement:
-Sword/dagger play. It's a little unwieldy to swing a sword, the animation doesn't look very good. If you're gonna put in more melee weapons, add some flair to the fighting style of it.
-Armory and Shop. Nothing has been added yet, as it is alpha. But I'd really hate if it went like Fortnite and put EVERYTHING behind a damn paywall. Otherwise, playing the game without it is useless and boring.
-Better skinned weapons. Some of them get really...ugly.

Despite the low graphics, I seriously reccomend this game for people who love storyline.
It is a little short, about four or five hours, but there is intense replay value.

is good game.
