I just want to make sure people understand before reading into this review further I have very little to criticize the team that is putting the effort in for this project. I barely have any faults with the assets themselves (models, world textures, props, etc) and I think the talent with this team has tons of potential. However Nvidia is taking advantage of community members for their exploitative gain.

My first point of issue is the free labor Nvidia is taking advantage of to get to promote Half-Life 2 to the industry is just wrong. I understand everyone signed up and understood what they were getting into but that's just it. There is absolutely no reason the team is not being compensated for the sheer amount of work their putting into this just so a corp has something to dance around. I hate the fact this is just a none issue to most people covering it and refuse to bring it up out of fear of being dropped by Nvidia. It's just wrong and shows just another sector of the game industry where hard working people get screwed over and no one really cares that can make a difference.

My next issue is with the overall playablility of this demo. It barely runs well on most machines besides ones with some of their best cards and even then everything has to use fake frames and AI on top to look even decent. However, even with all that the game still looks blurry or like it has a layer on top of it like some sort of soup that ruins the entire presentation. There's a newer engine by the company that this game was originally made by that looks just about as good and runs on way more hardware at way higher framerates without needing any ai or other garbage on top. Even other RTX games I've played do not struggle like this game does which is just odd. It's like they are purposely making this harder to run to push next gen cards which does not surprise me in the slightest. This demo does not make me want to upgrade my system, and really just makes me wonder whats the point at all when other games look just as good but without all the unneeded crap.

My last point is the generally poor treatment of the community trying to support this project. Nvidia has made it seem in promotions they want to respect the community behind this and want them to know this is for you but they do the exact opposite in practice. I can't say too much here due to who's all involved but denying people access and incorrectly naming people and communities in the credits that have helped promote this project is just ridiculous.

I seriously hope the people at Orbifold get noticed by much more respecting companies and get to do something bigger and better in the future. Anyways, thanks for reading this review where I complained a bunch. Thanks and I hope you hated it!
