I don't know about other cars, but I can test them all to find the differences and the feelings. I tested the Force India aswell, and it's incredibly fast in qualifyng and the first laps of the race, I made PB all the time, but when I was on 2/3 of the race, it starts to be slower, where finally my fastest lap was +0.5 slower than my PB. It's a shame because Codemasters says cars are equal, but they have (minor) differences. Well, they say for F1 2013 cars will be equal this time. I didn't test many cars, only the TR, Williams, Sauber, Marussia and Force India, all of them in Catalunya.

Well, equal cars are not equal. Every car has some different specs, which can fit more or less with your driving style. For example, my Toro Rosso is very stable and fast, but I feel the brakes much more easy to lock than any other car, the Sauber has a fantastic speed in straights, but it has more understeering than other car. The Marussia is fantastic in every sense, it does everything what you do, but it's slow. For me, the fastest cars are the Sauber and Williams, and the worst are the Marussia and HRT. They're not equal cars, but the gap between them is 0.8 seconds between the fastest and the slowest, but of course, with my driving style, for anyother maybe the Williams is impossible to drive or so.

thanks Wriswith, I didn't know, that Equal cars means McLaren basically. I was always trying to make my setup for Ferrari, and wondered, why it didn't work the same during our races, lol :D

And I have to say, for online races, you should set up your car only at online races or quick race mode. Not time trial due to time trial is made to set the fastest lap times only and is kind of arcade mode. The control and handling and grip is extraordinary good compared to any other mode.

@Aasimenator: In our online races we use a setting "Equal cars". this means every car has the same performance as the Mclaren, they just have their own skin. When in time trial, this setting is not on. That is why you notice a difference.

When practicing for the race, you should always use the Mclaren. As that is the car you will be actually driving in the race. This also goes for making your setup.

The best adivice that was given to me when my times where much slower than they are now was I pass onto you and hope you will follow it as I did. I am 51 years old and followed the advice given to me 27 years of age. "PRACTICE, PRACTICE PRACTICE". I spent 1 hour to shave off 0:952 secs off my spa time. When I first did the race on-line I battled to achieve a high 1:56.000. So come on fella stop whining and get on with it!

Aasim: Please do a little investigation before making comments that you are unable to prove. When Chris (Spawny) was racing in the Force India he politely kick my preverbial backside every single race as he does now. I challenge you to set up a race between yourself Chris, Patrick and Gaston. They will only be allowed to use the cars you specify and you are welcome to use any of the "TOP CARS" you so freely judge. I am willing to bet right here right now, even though you do TT Setting up off line when you get on-line you will see you will be slower and still be well and truly beaten.

@ Aasim: It's for everyone the same, time trial and online racing are 2 different subjects. In time trial I am usually 4 seconds faster than online with a McLaren ^^

....Contd.... Where as drives that already have the faster car these differences is not that huge may be less than 500 ms and this is where i feel they have the unfair advantage. And I know now that whoever is driving the McLaren has an enormous advantage, them and only them able to develop a racing setup.

......Contd......We practice & mark out our braking points which would lead us to a smooth & consistent drive all week till race day, and then all of a sudden in Online race my Force India would be 5 seconds faster. All my practice has gone to waste as if i start braking at points i have set during the Time Trials & Quick Races I would overshoot the turns as my car is quicker. I have to stop way earlier because my car is faster & reaches top speed and end up having to learn the track and set braking points again over the course of the race. I cannot do practice is Quick Race with 100% race distance and AI at Professional as then my car is significantly slower than the Time Trial........Contd.....

Guys I have realised that drive top cars (McLaren, Mercedes, Redbull, Ferrari, Lotus) they all have an unfair advantage.As I found out 2 weeks ago & notified Patrick, in Time Trial or any where else except Online Races, all car performances are NOT Equal, My Force India on custom Setup does a lap of SPA in 1:51:491 in TT but when I switch to Mercedes and use the same setup I could do 1:49:035 thats almost 2.5 sec difference. and with McLaren I was able to do 1:47:305 that would be close to 5 sec difference..... It is working for online races only, in your career you have the name you typed in when starting it.

left top corner go to -> Steam -> Settings -> Friends -> Here you can change your profile name
