I miss this group

I came back here after... gosh, how long has it been actually?
Remembering all those times that I just walked at people with a nuclear Black Box, only to still miss the shot anyway. All those times where you'd see Heavies just floating around the map, only to drop down and crush someone. The shots you'd hit, the shots you'd miss. That one Degreaser with low damage, but high burn time.
The Blinken Sage, the (actually decent) Third Degree, the Overclocker... hell, even the Two-Way Teleporters.
What a time.

low popularity, low interest, costly ($300AUD monthly).
The decline of community server support in TF2, as well as numerous unfixable bugs effecting modding capabilties.

Why was the project cancelled?

Yes, this project is retired since a few months ago. Using the links on the wiki page or via the newly added link above, you can host your own server if you wish.

So, is this project retired? If so, rip. I wanted to play Project Ghost.

Project Beta uses the TFBot AI. It is known to have some issues. Spy detection is a big one.
Try using the YER and only 1 in 100 or so bots will ever suspect anything. On the other hand sometimes they will follow you to the ends of the earth, even though there was no way they could have "normally" known you were a spy.

The bots on the Project Beta Dustbowl servers are too high level, and the others are too easy.

For some reason they can always track a Cloaked Spy (if I get a tiny little bump then they can somehow see me through walls, too) and almost never heal anyone but Soldiers, Demomans, Pyros and Heavies. Also they can use Splash Damage and land Airshot too efficiently. If they were players they'd be hackers tbh.

The most basic way to change stats, is using TF2Items. If you want to do more complex things, there is TF2Attributes. A nice list for everything that is in the game (TF team did not finish all) http://optf2.com/440/attributes .

Beyond what has been made available from the TF Team, you have to code what is not there. Things like making a heavy hover upwards, must be coded.

Just to be sure, how do you make your custom stats? I made a small list of what I think that must be changed on TF2, but I want to test the stuff to see if it's really balanced (I don't need to post the link to it, do I?)

I can not think of anything that would be in Beta's code that could cause this. I believe it may be a bug due to how bots are currently handled, ever since Jungle Inferno.

I'm loving the Dustbowl server. You know, the Project Beta 3v3 Bot one? I only have one issue, where sometimes random players completely change colour, but keep their team status (Example: RED Soldier looks like a BLU)

Maybe someday, but I don't foresee TF2TightRope hosting it again any time soon.
