After years of it being missed, begged for, and otherwise ignored /me is finally returning to steam! To be quite honest I really have never been active in this group so I want to take a short moment to recognize a person who helped organize this group.

Gordon3465 was the original founder of this group and the main facilitator of the /me revival voice til his departure. Give Gordon a thanks if you ever encounter him!
I would also take a look at some of the things being added to steam http://steamcommunity.com/updates/chatupdate
It's important at times like these to look at the realpolitik and see why steam is doing this. Keep in mind steam took /me away as a feature years ago and gave no explanation, and taking away user features without question is certainly not an acceptable practice.
In regards to the group : I'm not really sure what the purpose of the group is any longer. It seems hardly active, and somewhat lackluster in the administrative department. I would love to hear opinions on the matter.

All in all... /me is back! (and hopefully to stay!)

Understandably through a necro with no new information, the discussion thread was locked. but where was the reason behind locking the petition? I suggest we voice our complaints and bring the issue up again. As I stated before, this group is not dead, merely in a passive state, waiting until an opportunity to speak out arises.

Such an opportunity has just been presented, let's take it.

the thread had been locked for a while, soon after i had posted the announcement, the thread was unlocked once again.
