Best of the Midwest

Started by a select few gaming enthusiasts in 2013, Midwest Electronic Gaming Convention (shortened to MEG-CON) is North Iowa's largest gaming convention.

The event, which is named after the organization “Midwest Electronic Gaming”, sees hundreds of gamers from all over the Midwest attend every year to celebrate the organization’s gaming dynasty. MEG-CON brings the concept of a network computer gaming event, otherwise known as a LAN Party, to the heartland of the US.

MEG-CON brings together gamers of all ages and levels over three action packed days every July, giving them the opportunity to prove themselves in a range of competitions and socialize with other like minded people (otherwise known as 'Lanners').

MEG-CON is a event that relies on support from sponsors, volunteers and the Midwest gaming community, in order to succeed. All income generated by the organization is used to pay for the running of each event, and any remaining revenue helps to fund future events and infrastructure improvements to make each one bigger and better than the last!

Attendees have the opportunity to battle it out in games such as:

- Starcraft 2
- Hearthstone
- Team Fortress 2
- Quake
- Counterstrike: GO
- League of Legends
- DotA 2
- Minecraft
