Here we are again, this time the new chat beta has been released to the public. This means the bot can no longer be invited to chats. I made a comment yesterday about a new update being released today fixing the issue, but that sadly won't be the case.

It's going to take longer than I expected as I need to wait for SteamKit to update with support for the new chat. It's in progress though, so it will probably happen soon. In the meantime, I'll refine the code so the launch is as smooth as possible.

I'll make another announcement when the public beta is in effect.

As some of you may have noticed, with the new Steam chat beta, the bot is currently unable to join chatrooms. I'll look into what I can do to fix this, but it will probably be fixed in version 4.0, but I'm not sure when it will be out, since it will be a complete rewrite. Depending on when the new chat gets out of beta, I may have to get a basic version out first and then slowly add the features it had after that.

I'm currently working on the new rewrite, which will be made in C# instead of JavaScript, since the JavaScript library currently in use hasn't been updated since 2015. The C# one fairly recently got a .NET Core update, which is when I decided to switch to it for 4.0.

Whew! It has been over 2 months since the last update now, so I thought it was time for a new update. I was, um, taking a summer break... yea... Either way, this update brings some new neat feature as well as a lot of bug fixes.

Image analyzing
Now, when you link an image, the bot will try to figure out what is on the image and post it in chat. If it's unsure, it won't try to guess though. The future really is now isn't it?

Command bug fixes
Previously, if commands were disabled, no one would be able to use them. Now, users can't use them, but mods and admins still can.

Search
That's right, the !search command is back and better than ever! It's still using Google, so it's just as good as it was before.

User searching fixes
Previously, when you tried to use a command that involved searching for a specific user, like !poke, !warn and auto kick and ban, it would always say that the user could not be found. I was finally able to find the cause and fix the issue! It should now work as expected.

Link resolving fixes
Some minor link resolving bugs has also been fixed. This mainly includes Twitch links, which now work as expected. Imgur links has also been much improved and should now be much faster.

Kraxbot Open Source, an open source and public version of Kraxbot that anyone can run.

How is it different from 0x0bf3f39?
It aims to provide similar features to it, but some things are different. Since it's still in fairly early stages, it may be buggy. If you do find a bug though, feel free to create an issue for it.

What about 0x0bf3f39?
It's still going to be developed and worked on, along with this one. It's never going to get replaced.

Is it free?
Yes, anyone can download and run it. Only thing you need is a Steam account that isn't limited. You can find more info about it here.

What operating systems does it support?
Main focus is Windows, since that is what most people are using. You can run it on Mac and Linux, but at the moment, it might be a little of a hassle. You can find more info in the wiki on the GitHub page.

So, since the new Cleverbot in 3.0, everything has been working fine until recently. As some of you may have noticed, Cleverbot has been completly broken for some time now due to "Breaking the Cleverbot terms".

I've made an attempt at fixing this issue and applied the update just now. The update doesn't contain anything more than that though. If they revoke access for me again, I'll have to revert back to the old Cleverbot I was using pre 3.0.

UPDATE:
I've been trying to get it working again, but they locked my account twice, so I'm gonna have to revert back to the old way. Keeping the new one up and running would cost me about 10$ per month.
