As far as I can tell, GOG's client - Galaxy 2.0 - does not currently offer controller support. That means it would depend on the game whether or not it can support them.

A large portion of GOG's library is composed of older games, which are unlikely to have controller support on their own, especially not for modern Xbox/PS/etc controllers. More recent AAAs will probably have controller support built in. Indies will be hit or miss, as always.

I use a Steam Controller myself, so I can map keyboard/mouse inputs to the controller as required, which gets around this issue when the game doesn't support it natively, but using something like an Xbox/PS controller I'd say support is likely spotty at best. This may change if they add controller support to their Galaxy client, but I'm not sure what the timeline might be for that.

@Paratech2008: I don't think Hyo meant any offense. The answer, simply, is that you won't be given the chance to redeem Witcher 3 on GOG *just because* you bought it on Steam. GOG would first have to decide to put it up.

I don't think Witcher 3 has been featured yet, and we have no way of predicting if it will be in the future. It MIGHT be made available, but we don't know for sure that it WILL be.

TLDR; if you want it on GOG, you're better off buying it from GOG in the first place.

Well they allowed people who had the first 2 Witchers on Steam GOG copies in the past...hence why I asked about the 3rd one...

That's not how GOG Connect works. Games are available for a period of time in which, if you already have them on Steam, you can claim them for free on your GOG account. What games, how many and for how long depends on GOG.

If you buy The Witcher 3 GotY edition on Steam, can you use connect to get a gog version? I like backups... Thanks in advance

Every game on GOG Connect is available for a limited time, your brother probably redeemed Stellaris before June 4, 6 PM UTC. There are no games available to redeem as of today. Each announcements tells you how long you have to redeem each game.

why I don't see the games through gog connect since July? Stellaris was available to my brother but not to me... (we both have it on steam)

I own most, by far, that have been eligible yet only have a handful "connected".

I always miss them - last two times I was away. It's a bit daft - blink and you miss your chance...forever.
