Hello everyone, I should have posted this here long ago. But there's always too much to do and easy to forget. Tomorrow is the event for the CPMA 25th Anniversary !!! I really hope you all tune in. We are ambitiously trying to attempt an EU Cup, EU Showmatch (with old vets and such), NA Cup, NA Showmatch, and showcase entik's "The Contenders 3" fragmovie (nearly 15 years in the making !).

Are we dead yet?

I guess not. 25 years have passed since the beta 3 release of CPMA. And by August 28 of this year, it will be the 25th anniversary of the 1.0 release.

Since the great renaissance of the game since 2016, over the years there has been:

• over hundreds more players trying out the game
  
• many fun nights of pickup games
  
• multiple tournaments ranging across different regions
  
• updates to the client and mod with plenty of QoL features, customization, modern capabilities, and in-depth graphics modules.

It's super wonderful that the history of CPMA has kept developing and expanding after two decades. For the game to keep receiving such love and care from the developers and the players after all this time is amazing.


Recent updates:
As of recent, we've had yet another revival of pickup games in Europe led by the legendary snapcase & rokky. It was quite easy when snapcase was spamming everyone for CPMA Saturday and threatened to shut down all his servers.

We've also had a resurgence (yet again) of pickup games in South America with a new Discord and servers provided by Brunno, and ATP spearheading (spamming @everyone) players to play in the pickups each night. As of now they are in their 10th consistent CPMA night (actually he lost count, but so far they have played every night since the start).

Over the last couple years we also got The Contenders 3 sneak peaks from entik and can't wait to see it in a theater near you.

Hopefully we can get more revivals in each region and have more events. Be sure to join the main and/or regional discord to play more promode.

The Promode Team for their incredible work on the client and mod. 8 years ago, most would never think we'd be able to have all these functionalities we have now.

Server owners for making it possible for everyone to actually play the game with each other.

Mappers for making new maps (that people will still vote cpm22 over) that add more zest to the game.

Contributors/helpers that have helped the community in multiple ways and not limited to; pickup bot, starting games, technical help, tournament casting, and more.

Event organizers for creating memorable tournaments, leagues, and etc. for the players to participate in.

And of course, the players for sticking around in a game that originated in the late 1990s on a mod that released in 2000. Absolutely incredible.
