Group will be abandoned

Due to how demanding life has been, and the fact that this group never really took off, I plan on abandoning this group in favor of starting a new one from scratch when I have time. I've got to think of a good name and better content structure. All of my curator content will be copied over.

If you have any ideas on how to make the new one more attractive for people, let me know. Even with all the people that were members, no one really participated.

Thank you for coming, and I hope to see you in the new group... whenever that is.

An overdue status update

Live has been crazy, demanding, and hectic for quite a while now. I haven't had much time for Steam for over a year. Recently, I've been able to get on for a little bit in the evenings, but I haven't had time to finish games and write new reviews.

I plan on giving the group an overhaul once I find more time, including changing around the forums. Hopefully I'll also be able to get back to writing more reviews. I have a large backlog to work from. Many of my reviews can take over an hour, though, so I need even more time.

If you want to leave, I understand. But, I hope you stay and subscribe to everything so that you'll know when I do bring the group back to life!

Castle of Illusion is being delisted

Castle of Illusion is going off of Steam indefinitely.

As frustrating as it was to hunt for out-of-print games on eBay without spending a squillion quid, at least you could still get them. When digitally-distributed games are no longer sold, they’re just gone as far as the well-mannered electronic entertainment enthusiast is concerned. After tomorrow, Sega’s remake of ’90s Mickey Mouse jumpyjumper Castle of Illusion will be pulled from sale on Steam for… possibly forever? Sega won’t be allowed to sell it any more, because business.

This reimagining of the Sega classic was published 3 years ago on September 4, 2013. This is the only time I've seen it basically go on clearance. Now's your last (known) chance to get it. I noticed a few of you have it on your wishlist, so you should get on it if you still want it.

I played the original Castle of Illusion on Sega Genesis over 20 years ago. It's better than this one. But, this is a reimagining, not a remake. So, I still bought a copy for myself and Merewyn.

More games added for trade

The Humble Monthly for August is now available. Unfortunately, I'm not interested in claiming any of them! That's right, I blew my monthly cost on NOTHING. I'm going to cancel my subscription because I'd rather spend the money on bundles that I know I want. The annoying thing is that SOMA is the preview for next month, and I do want that one, but I'm not going to risk the rest of the bundle being a dud for me.

Some of the reasons I'm extremely picky with these bundles are that I don't play anything that is heavily or solely focused on multiplayer, I am very selective with platformers, and I don't like bullet hell or other high intensity stuff. I have over 1,000 games on my wishlist, and these monthly bundles are getting worse at hitting the mark.

So, if you are interested in trading for some really good games (if they are up your alley), go take a look at my extra games for trade. I added the August 2016 collection at the top.

I hope that you have something available for trade that I'd get some amusement out of because it was quite disappointing and depressing to see how it was a total loss this time.

I edited the group description to remove the fluff and make it simple to figure out. I might make some more changes later.

I edited my game list to have a different intro, the IndieGala stuff has been alphabetized, and best of all -- I've decided to make all of the lower cost stuff FREE. If you're on my friend list, and you've had some type of positive interaction with me (chat, upvotes, etc), you can just ask for what you want. Just don't get greedy.

Check both of them out! I welcome feedback you may have.

What this is about

I've purchased a BUNCH of bundles over the years, and I keep getting more. I already own some of the games and others I'm not interested in (i.e. multiplayer/MMO, high hardware specs, etc). I even get duplicates across the bundles.

The headers are to let me know which bundle to find the game in. I didn't bother categorizing IndieGala because there are just too many. Instead, I've alphabetized it.

Trade Me

No trade is necessary for lower-end titles (IndieGala, etc). I only request trades for the higher value ones. I might give away higher value titles to friends I like (determined by prior interactions).

I'm looking to trade for games that I may be interested in. I have a very large wishlist spanning all sorts of genres, so take a peek if you want to pre-screen your trade. You can also just visit the store page and see if it shows me as wanting it. I'm interested in a variety of casual games, visual novels, RPGs, simulations, and more.

I would appreciate trades/gifts of similar value, but I may also accept lesser value. It can be a combination of games, cards, and/or emoticons. I may have other items listed in Swap Meet.

If you are interested in any of these, let me know. Games are crossed out as they are claimed.

Due to the nature of the bundle games, I can only GIFT them by giving you the key, sending using the gift link, etc. Therefore, I will require "payment" up-front. I've been ripped off too many times to send first. I may also be able to arrange the trade through IndieGala since key-swapping is possible there.

Coupons

It varies. Since they expire, I can't keep listing them out. If you're interested in coupons, just let me know. I might have some available.
