Voodoo Extreme Steam Community

This is an update for you guys regarding the front page of Voodoo Extreme, live here before I post it at VE later tonight.

Socketboy and I have hung out hoping for a resolution that would allow us to stick around, primarily because since January we've been told that there was the possibility of working something out. Unfortunately a resolution still hasn't come together, so I have made the call to cease front page news updates at the end of May 2012. Socketboy will join me in leaving behind the front page, although we will most likely still publish a few bits of non-news content following the shutdown.

We have a special front page update planned next week involving the Wilson family, primarily Billy "Wicked" Wilson's brother Christopher. You guys will be happy to hear that at the age of 14, Dax is very much like his dad, and brings his family a lot of joy. Next week's update featuring Chris will be the very last "Blah" on my watch as Editor-in-Chief, at which point front page updates will stop unless IGN finds some other way to keep it updated.

It has been a complete honor to be a part of the site that Billy founded, and take a walk in his shoes. He was a good friend of mine while he was here on this earth, and having this opportunity in some ways gave me some level of closure. Despite that I will continue to miss his friendship, just as much as I'll miss interacting with all of you.

Thank you so much for for sticking with us through the thick and thin. We've been lucky to have one of the most dedicated, entertaining, and supportive communities out there, made up of individuals that have been reading the site since as far back as 1997. Somehow we managed to stick together despite several major events in the past that threatened the site, and of course the on-and-off again drama.

I'm not sure what's next for me (let alone for any of us at this point), but on my end you're all welcome to stay in touch.

Thanks again everyone for being such a kickass bunch. I'll never forget the fun times we all had at VE, and I will miss the VE we all knew and loved more than I can put into words.
