It's the SteamVR user beta!

Hooray, Vive PRE is headed your way soon!

As you're awaiting its arrival, you're no doubt starting to think about where you'll set up the VR play area in your home. BrandonJLa of Stress Level Zero has created a helpful Hover Junkers space requirements video for tips on how to make room for your new setup at home, in even the tiniest of spaces.

You can set up your Vive for seated experiences like Elite Dangerous, standing games like Audioshield[audio-shield.com], or room-scale games like Job Simulator[jobsimulatorgame.com]. And of course a room-scale setup will support all of these.

To make way for room-scale, you'll need an area clear of furniture that's at least 2m x 1.5m, or about 6.5ft x 5ft. Your play area can be larger than this too, if you have more room. You'll want to keep your base stations within 5m, or about 16ft, of one another for optimal motion tracking coverage. You may want to try out a few different locations for your base stations before you commit to permanent installation.
