1:1 Card Trading Leadership Change

Hello everybody, it has been over a year since my last announcment and that is becasue I have mostly drifted away from the group. For most of the last year ♥♥tutor♥♥tara♥♥ has been running things and keeping everything running well with the simple rule of 1 for 1 fair trades being made for everybody. Sweetroll started this great group right after Steam trading cards were released when the need for such a place was desperately needed, and then passed the group to me. So now I will pass it to ♥♥tutor♥♥tara♥♥ who will continue to keep things running well.

Email Notifications for trading

You may have noticed by now that Steam has removed the Captcha from trading, and replaced it with an Email Notifation conformation instead.

You can disable the notifications if you want.

Go to Edit Profile and choose My Privacy Settings.

Down at the bottom is a sectioned labeled "Confirmation of Trades" with the option to disable the requirement for e-mail verification.

Warning: If you disable the email conformation, Steam Support will also not provide you with any assistance in recovering items that may be stolen from your account, for any reason.

Snow Globes, Winter Sale, And 1000 Member Giveaway

As you should all know by now, Steam Winter sale starts today. Just remember, wait until the last day of sale to buy a game unless it is a Daily Deal or on Flash Sale. Nothing more annoyng than seeing a game go on Flash Sale one hour after you bought it.

Also, the Winter Sale Snow Globe cards have an expiration date on them, unlike the Summer Sale cards which still clog the Community Market. You have until Friday, January 3 to craft your Winter Sale badges. So don't horde your cards.

In case you didn't notice, our group got it's 1000th member a couple of days ago. I have deceided to give away some games to celebrate.

Free Cards Update

Two weeks ago I announce another chance to win free cards. I will do this if there is enough intrest in it. All I need is 75 people to sign up for it. We are (almost) 1/3 of the way there. We need 52 more people.

Can it be done before the end of November? I think so :)

Free Cards - Part 2

Through the month of September, I gave away several sets of cards and booster packs to try to boost activity in our group.
This appeared to be popular, so I was a little disappointed when only 15 people wanted this to continue. I now belive that this low interist in free cards is do to the location I chose to ask the question and not due to program itself. So time for a second attempt!

If I get 75 people wanting this to continue, the spice cards will flow.

Making it Better!

I want to improve the givaway and make it less passive and hopefuly make it more entertaing for those that do now win. In the past,to encourage trading, all you had to do to receive cards was have an active trading thread. This was not a bad idea, but it excluded all the people that came to trade in the threads, but did not make their own thread. Also, my Serendipity givaway received a lot of positive activity.

I have learned from this, and deceided to make the giveaways more active. I have a couple of ideas, but could use some help. Post some ideas for contest here, and if I use it, you wil earn a booster pack :)
