Hey All!

I'd like to say sorry for my recent hiatus from this group and steam in general due to school and work obligations.

I will be posting an announcement soon to enact several reforms to this steam group with the aim to promote the revival of the player base for this super fun "mini Dark Souls".

I'm trying to think of ways that we can utilize community engagement through this group and the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ necropolis discord in order to bring a bit of life back to the game; ways that we can engage with the game and circumnavigate some of its technical flaws. I would love any input that active group members might provide in this regard!

Some ideas of mine include:

- Establishing a forum where delvers will establish threads to recruit and manage "necropolis expeditions", (groups of 4) or "expedition companies" (multiple groups of 4) that can set up play schedules, not unlike raiding guilds in WoW.

- Establishing parameters for friendly competition between groups of players (speed runs, Special challenges), including how to properly run such competitions in a self-perpetuating and fair manner. This should promote increased player activity, communal engagement and player skill!

- Establishing a meta-score-system, tracked outside of the game (perhaps in the forums or on a website), for established groups that actively play and engage in community events. For example: an expedition company might keep track of how many times groups under their banner clear the necropolis or wipe; then with a timestamped screenshot of each players wipe/clear screen (where tokens of favor are earned) that is posted on the forum, the earned tokens would be tallied outside of the game and added to the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ company total by way of a moderator confirming the post. Companies could compare their success by their token total and gain renown through high scores- attracting more players to join their company (aka clans, guilds, families etc...). perhaps there could be more that forum tokens could do but you get the idea…

- Fortifying the knowledge base of lore, gameplay mechanics, codices, and potions in the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ necropolis wiki- centralizing the information from other well-known guide sources and thus providing another centralized hub for community engagement.

- Establishing a user friendly and technically helpful webpage or wiki for the necropolis modding scene to distribute mods, technical guides and modding resources. The modders are hard at work digging deep into the back end of the game however to my current knowledge: one must find mods and information on mods on the necropolis discord's modding channel, and that installation and implementation of mods may still require technical knowledge that not all players possess. Creating user friendly mod pages and technical tutorials will greatly accelerate player engagement with what mods already exist and those in development (as more people will be able to test mods and assist with mod creation).

Just to list a few...

HOWEVER, I'm still a busy college boy these days and I would like to think these systems out thoroughly before implementing anything! Also, as I stated above: I would greatly appreciate any other ideas that you guys have! I'm positive that there are things I have not considered in the list above and I’m sure that that list can be implemented and a whole slew of ways, please do PM me with your input!

PS, For any of this to happen we will need active administration, including moderators and group leaders.Those who like this game a bunch, want to be a part of its revival, and have the time / patience would be most welcome in helping build this place back up!
