This is so lame. I currently have 5 trades on hold and I actually have a smart phone :(

I don't think Valve is ever going to remove the trade hold system. It has now been a month since the update went live and we have heard nothing at all from Valve yet.

I expected there to at least be a warning before we entered a trade with someone who was subject to Escrow.. clearly this is not the case as I now havve items hopelessly locked away for 3 days.. Honestly makes me weary of accepting any trades. Might just throw in the towel on trading, and boycott the SCM out of spite.

Yep it's official, escrow begins on Dec. 9th. So if you don't have a iOS or Android device you have to deal with escrow and anyone trading with you has to deal with escrow. Also if you have the app with the mobile confirmations but your phone runs out of battery, you cannot confirm your trades until you are able to charge it again. RIP Steam Trading.

If players without phone (me) can't trade, they will buy on market! valve will just do it for the money...

Like really, most of valve income comes from the community, either buying or selling on the market, all this is going to do is make those profits plummet. All this means is that the community is going to be mad, and valve isnt going to make as much money, it is a lose - lose for everyone involved.
