Well guys, we had a good run and fun going out party. But for Alpha Theater, this is the end of the line.

New doors have opened for us all.

Alpha Theater will be closing down tonight, permanently.
Most of you who still are around, talking in the discord and hopping on every once in a while, you know this already, but everyone else needs to know too.

At midnight tonight, when the click ticks 12:00 and turns December 1st(US EST) the server will be officially closed. If you wish to spend your night on Alpha one last time, we suggest you come along and hang out with everybody.

Alpha Theater has been around for almost 3 years now. I officially opened the server on January 10th, 2014, when I was still a moderator on YukiTheater, and when customized cinema servers were few. On it's opening, Barney saw and messaged me. I explained to him that I was opening my own cinema server, and he went ahead and joined up with me, and a while later came Pyro willing to help us with development.

Alpha definitely had it's glory days. We had a golden age for quite some time before Yuki stepped up and took back first place. Shortly after that, we suffered multiple-a-day DDOS's, and eventually, a cyber attack that had destroyed everything we had on the server. We lost all of our player data, our PinV, and other things we had on the server that were not recently backed up(oops). Alpha Theater was destroyed and we were forced to start all over, and eventually we did.

Our reboot pulled some good numbers for a while, and while certain Cinema servers were still surviving, (and CBC thriving) we realized something. The days of the cinema we knew were dying. There's a lower overall playercount, and more servers to choose from. Yuki, CBC, Alpha, and Gcinema were no longer the only real competitors. During this time, I also began to lose interest. Flash was(is) losing support, I had things I needed to do, and no longer had the energy into directing my staff and keeping morale high. And so, Alpha began dying. And it has been pretty much decaying over these past 5 or 6 months. We are not getting players, and that is a fact.

Barney and I have already moved on and started over. If you're persistent in the community, then you probably already know where and how. If you want to know and don't, ask us.

Pyro still has his game, and may very well continue on in Garry's Mod in the future. If you want to know, ask him.

Recently, I've opened a server with Barney. We've had a steady loyal-player count but we need to get the numbers up, so we ask you to come check us out and refer your friends if you enjoy it. It uses the DarkRP system, but it's played more IC'ly than most servers, and takes place in its own unique setting with an interesting map, jobs and content.
