It’s been a while since we last dipped our quills together, hasn't it? Even though the grand chronicles of Inkulinati development reached their final chapter some time ago, our thoughts often wander back to you. Today we’ve returned from our scriptorium with a bag full of news - some regarding your favorite tactical battlegrounds, and some about a completely new way to enjoy this magnificent medieval period!

We’ve been keeping an an eye on the forums, and we’ve heard you loud and clear: the current Steam Backgrounds for Inkulinati aren’t quite capturing the absurdity of our signature manuscript art style. We did check that and totally agree - a game that celebrates the beauty of medieval marginalia should let you deck out your profiles with nothing but the best.

What would you like to see there? A specific beast or character from Inkulinati? A grand apocalypse? Or perhaps something more subtle and just medieval? Drop your ideas in the comments - let’s make your Steam profiles look like a masterpiece worth Inkulinati Masters!

First of all we wanted to let you know that we rolled out a security Unity update that addressed a rare vulnerability related to games created on Unity engine - we are not sure if Inkulinati was affected by it too, but we fixed it just in case. We're happy to announce that it was patched, and you're safe and sound! While doing that, we want to address two other issues:

• MacOS Support: We’ve rolled out a fix for Mac players who were experiencing issues launching the game after the security update. It should be smooth sailing (or illuminating!) now!

• Startup Freezes: We’re investigating a tricky issue where the game freezes during launch on specific language versions. This one is a bit of a "stealthy rogue" as it doesn’t always show up in the logs. Therefore, we need your help! If you’ve encountered this, please reach out via the Steam forums or our contact form on the Yaza Games website and tell us what happened before the issue appeared. Your reports are the key to us cracking this case!

Now, for the "Medieval Superstar" of today’s announcement. We are beyond excited to reveal that our (Yaza Games) next project, Scriptorium: Master of Manuscripts, has just released a brand-new FREE DEMO as part of Steam Next Fest! Wait, what is Scriptorium? Think of it as the cozy, creative spin-off to Inkulinati, set in the same whimsical, medieval world.

• Instead of commanding armies, you become the illuminator, a creative mind that either embark on a story mode journey to become the best scribe ever, or just plays a sandbox mode where Scriptorium jest basically a medieval Photoshop or Panva - just you, parchment and whatever your imagination tells you.

• Use hundreds of authentic medieval assets to illustrate your own books, posters, or even DnD character cards. Yes, you can make Inkulinati trading card games too!

• You’ll find many of your favorite Inkulinati friends here, alongside a hoard of brand-new, bizarre creatures and faces!

Basically it’s just you, a blank piece of parchment, and some lo-fi medieval vibes. If you ever wanted to experience our art style without the stress of a burning battlefield, this is for you. The game allows to taste the vibe of the game - the full version will have plenty more assets, commissions, light and dark parchments of all shapes and sizes... everything!

We're letting you know because Scriptorium addresses a lot of feedback from you that we received during Inkulinati times - to just be there, in a real medieval workshop, and... create, not battle. sorry for not being here as often as in the past, but as you know our development journey with Inkulinati ended some time ago. Recently we launched our first public, community playtest for Scriptorium and we'd love to invite you to play it hear your feedback! We know from the past that many Inkulinati players wanted to experience the Inkulinati setting and medieval art in slightly different environment (that's you, you lovely creative people!), and Scriptorium might be a perfect fit for you - just you, empty parchment and chill, medieval vibes.
