Team Ladybug's First Original Metroidvania: Blade Chimera Out Now!

Dear Team Ladybug and Metroidvania fans,

Today, we are proud to have released Blade Chimera, Team Ladybug's very first original Metroidvania!

Building upon feedback we received from players of Touhou Luna Nights and Record of Lodoss War -Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth-, Blade Chimera has 3 fully original maps and a large variety of sidequests for you to complete. It's a longer, richer experience that any past Team Ladybug game, and it has a fresh demo on Steam for you to try out as well!

One of the game's defining features is the ability to warp anywhere on the map, which is pretty unusual for a Metroidvania. It allows quick, convenient travelling across the large maps without trivializing movement.

Special Collaboration with the IGAvania Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night—the Metroidvania New Generation Bundle!

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, one of the most iconic titles by IGA, the great founding father of the Metroidvania genre itself, is collaborating with us to create this bundle. The collaboration is scheduled to last until the end of February.

Actually, IGA, Shutaro, and Ladybug have actually talked in a "Metroidvania round table" before, where Ladybug reveals that he strives to emulate their work in his own. That was what paved the way for this collaboration.

Until today, the discussion was only transcribed in Japanese, but to commemorate this collaboration, we've gotten special permission from Famitsu to translate it into English and Simplified Chinese. The translations are available to read on the PLAYISM website, and there you can read about just how much Ladybug was influenced by Symphony of the Night.

Newest Team Ladybug Title: New Blade Chimera Demo Out Now!

Dear Team Ladybug and Metroidvania fans,

There's only a month left until the release of Blade Chimera, Team Ladybug's very first original Metroidvania, on January 16, 2025!

In response to feedback from Team Ladybug fans, Blade Chimera has a larger map and more side quests than any previous title, making it an even deeper and longlasting experience for players.

We've released a new and updated demo for Blade Chimera, so please check it out to get a feel for the game yourself!
Back in June, we made a demo for Steam Next Fest, and in the past half year that demo has been further improved and expanded on to make this new demo.

Stage 2: Phoenix Gardens is now playable
Added a new ability to Lux, the Demon Sword: When you’re separated from the Demon Sword, power is charged in the blade. When it returns to you, it creates a shockwave that deals damage along its path
Added a new collectable item: Puzzle Pieces

Team Ladybug's Newest Metroidvania: Blade Chimera Joins Steam Next Fest!

The developers of this game, Team Ladybug, are currently working on the upcoming cyberpunk metroidvania Blade Chimera!

Play as Shin, a Demon Hunter who has lost his memories and is now exploring the world together with his sword—the transformed Lumina demon Lux—recollecting memories about yourself, your missing wife, and skills you've forgotten.

Each time you recollect a lost skill, Lux changes form according to the will of her wielder, making Shin stronger and granting access to more areas of the world.

■ Game Features
In Blade Chimera, the demon Lux transforms into your trusty weapon—the Lumina Sword, which you will have to use to interfere with the past, create new platforms, and shield yourself from danger to explore a desolate world.

Other than the Lumina Sword, you will also have access to other weapons such as swift daggers and long-range guns. Find the perfect weapons to suit your fighting style.

This game features a skill tree system. Upon leveling up, you will receive points that can be spent on unlocking skills that will aid you on your journey.

Blade Chimera is participating in Steam Next Fest right now with a brand new demo. If you're a fan of this game, you'll definitely know how much fun Team Ladybug's games are!

Take the Lumina Sword for a spin (maybe literally) and experience the addictive gameplay yourself!

Fan Art contest deadline extended!

Regarding the fan art contest for Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth, we received some comments stating they did not realize a contest waa going on and if we could extend the deadline.
In order to give people more time we have decided to extend the deadline by 2 weeks.

The winning piece will become the official banner art for the title.

The new cut off date will be April 24th (Fri) 23:59 JST.
