Anyone know of a way of deactivating or bypassing WMR for the G2 headset, so that I can get things going without using the WMR portal at all? I am having endless problems with it. I'm thinking: perhaps fooling my computer to thinking that the G2 is an index / Cosmos....

According to some people I've spoken with in the Flatscreen to VR Mod server, Windows Mixed Reality Portal is fully deprecated and no longer in use. Windows 11 is the reason why your WMR headsets no longer work. Apparently, by update V.24H2 for Windows 11, all support for the WMR drivers no longer work. The only system that works for WMR is Windows 10, which will lose all support come October of 2025. Unfortunately, unless a total mad-lad of a modder can salvage WMR and ensure some form of emulation is...

They even can't let you install driver manually cause they deleted HoloLens Sensors ClassGUID in register. I'll never buy anything new type of device that support provide by Microsoft from now. Such painful that i just buy the headset less than a year.
