Greetings, Slayers.

We come bearing news! As we are soon heading into the Year of The Beast, the Steel Mantis Discord server has been reactivated!

What some of you might remember as the Valfaris-titled server has now been fully reawakened as the official home for all things Steel Mantis, past, present, and future.

The Discord has been revamped with organised channels, new community spaces, and yes: Steel Mantis himself is back.

Expect sneak peeks, playtesting opportunities, and more coming soon.

We’d also love to hear your suggestions for the server, what you’d like to see, discuss, or take part in as we shape this space together. See you there.

VALFARIS SEQUEL IS HALF-PRICE THIS WEEKEND!

Wanted to let everyone know that Valfaris: Mecha Therion, the shmup sequel to Valfaris, is available with a 50% discount until Monday, 2nd September. The half-price offer coincides with the release of a new update, which gives players who complete the game the opportunity to test their skills in an arcade-style 'Challenge Mode'.

PLAYTESTERS WANTED FOR VALFARIS: MECHA THERION!

Valfaris developer Steel Mantis is looking for playtesters to put the upcoming Valfaris: Mecha Therion through its paces and provide feedback. If you're interested, click the following link and complete the playtest application form: https://forms.gle/ZBSm5QihJP46vjop6

They're looking for a wide range of players, so it doesn't matter if you've never played any of Steel Mantis' previous games, or if shoot 'em ups aren't usually your thing.

If you're invited to participate, you'll be sent a Steam key giving you access to a full build of Valfaris: Mecha Therion ahead of the playtest start date on Tuesday, 5th September. The playtest will take place between 5th and 12th September.

VALFARIS SEQUEL - DEMO LIVE NOW!

The very first demo for Valfaris: Mecha Therion – the sequel to Valfaris – is live now and available to download from the game's Steam page!

Demo content:

Tutorial level
1x full stage: 'Ruins of Anvin'
3x Destroyer class weapons: Hellwraith, Hellhammer, Bringer of Mayhem
2x Melee class weapons: Bathoryn, Therion's Fist
3x Auxiliary class weapons: Homing Swords, Electroburst, Bunker-Buster
2x Module unit suit power-ups: Reaper, Crash-Burst

It's also worth mentioning that weapons can be upgraded — simply land at a checkpoint and select the 'Upgrade' option. If you have enough resources, you'll be able to increase the rank of the selected weapon. You start the demo with a stash of 30 Blood Metals, which will allow you to upgrade one of your weapons at the very first checkpoint if you want to.

On the first attempt, a single playthrough of the demo will take most players between 15 and 30 minutes. However, it's very much designed with multiple playthroughs in mind, so you can try the different weapon loadouts (and also find a couple of small secret areas).
