The DEFINITIVE EDITION has been updated! The big news is, as you can probably tell from the name of the update, the Linux edition! That’s right, you can now play The Way of Life: DEFINITIVE EDITION on your Linux computer!

We’ve been busy working on the Linux porting, but that’s not all: we fixed a few bugs that slipped past playtesting and updated the game Hub. For the full list of changes, read below.

• Settings: the VSync options are now properly saved, and will not reset on game start;
  
• Windowed mode: it should now work properly and on every resolution;
  
• Sounds: added missing footsteps sound in a few locations;
  
• Texts: fixed a few typos;
  
• Tutorial: the symbols on the Library Keys are now displaying correctly when picked up;
  
• Hub: the doors have been slightly altered to show which ones hold game levels inside. Indicators on each game door now show which level endings have been completed, so it’s easier to spot from the center of the hub which levels you haven’t played yet and how many endings you are missing.
  
• Fixed minor bugs and glitches.

The Way of life: DEFINITIVE EDITION has been released. It is now time to give some love to the Free Edition as well! The previous version was two years old: with the Spring Renovation Update this small fragment of the full game will look like the one in the DEFINITIVE EDITION.
In addition you can now play the game in three new languages: French, German and Russian.

If you have played the Free Edition before and you are still waiting to play the DEFINITIVE EDITION, we suggest you play the game again and experience all the improvements made in the past two years.

Hey guys! The day has come!
The Way of life: DEFINITIVE EDITION is now officially out! We have updated the Free Edition with links to the DEFINITIVE EDITION. In the game hub you can now interact with the locked doors to go to the store page where you can buy the game and get additional info.

This new edition of the game is a lot more than an update, it’s almost a totally new game with the same core concept! The three experiences of the Free Edition have been updated and expanded and 21 new levels have been added. The experiences are now part of an overarching story you can discover by playing and exploring all the levels.
The Ending of the game will take into account every choice the player makes by playing through all the levels.
The game is now available in 5 languages (EN ITA GER FR RUS) and cards and achievements have been added.
Consider the Free Edition as a proof of concept. If you like the idea behind the game, go buy the DEFINITIVE EDITION, you will not regret it!

We are going to post a new announcement every other day with a bunch of info, insights and curiosities about the game and its development. Follow us along until the game is released!

There are 90 artworks in the game, 3 for each level. These include concept arts, mood paintings and character designs. You unlock them by completing a level in all of its choices.

There is one ending we ended up cutting from the final release. It felt like a great and funny idea at the time, but after some time we realized it was more like a huge joke than anything else, so we decided to take it out.

He looks grumpy all the time, but underneath it all he’s a softy.

We have a whole room dedicated to the credits, where each developer has his or her own personal statue. A good way to thank all the amazing people who worked really hard to develop the game!

Between the first prototype and the launch edition we went through 10 main versions of Unity during Development, from 4.6 to 2017.2. Sometimes the changes were so drastic we had to take a few weeks to make sure everything was updated correctly to the new version.
