Okay, so… over the last month I’ve played through all of the Max and Chloe storyline games, and I genuinely don’t think I have the words to fully explain how much this experience meant to me but I’ll try.

From the writing, to the voice acting, to the music, atmosphere, and every part of these games feels like it was made with so much care and intention. Nothing felt rushed or empty. It all felt real.

I first played the original game when it came out, and I was almost the exact same age as the characters. Coming back to it now, years later, I didn’t just feel nostalgia, I felt like I was reconnecting with a part of myself I hadn’t thought about in a long time. It reminded me of what it felt like to grow up, to deal with changes i wasns't equipt to deal with, to hold onto friendships, and to struggle with the uncertainty of everything ahead.

I love how honestly these games portray time, choices, and consequences. Life doesn’t slow down, and neither do the emotions that come with it and somehow, this story captures that perfectly. It made me reflect not only on who I was back then, but also on who I am now.

You didn’t just make a game, you created an experience that sticks with people. One that makes us think, feel, and remember. And I know I’m not the only one who feels that way.

So thank you for the memories, the emotions, and for telling a story that stand out. Please continue to do what you do, because what you’ve created truly means something to us and to me personally.

God I'm so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ happy for this. It plays out like a random fanservicey AO3 fix it continuation of Double Exposure, and while it has some questionable plot choices as usual it was an absolute blast. Chloe's snark will never not make me laugh and the whole reunion itself was wholesome asf.

I have read all the reviews complaining the game is a cashgrab and solely focused on nostalgia and what not. Guess what ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, the previous game was also developed to prey on the nostalgia to OG LiS, but Reunion did it RIGHT. And during these times in the gaming world, we were all due something emotional, familiar and easy on the eyes, and Reunion delivers that and much more. I do not regret a single dollar spent, this was peak Pricefield and I will go down with them. So, for any new player, or someone looking into purchasing this, I only have one question:

After more than a decade, Max Caulfield and Chloe Price share the same screen again. Life is Strange: Reunion is a sequel to Double Exposure. It follows Chloe as she arrives at Caledon University, haunted by nightmares and impossible memories. Meanwhile, Max faces an impending fire that threatens to destroy the campus in just a few days. It’s a tense situation, but Reunion's true strength comes from the reconnecting of two old friends. Their reunion feels incredibly satisfying.

Let’s address this directly: her return feels somewhat forced. However, that’s not necessarily bad! Bringing Chloe Price back was definitely the right choice. After years away and the mixed reactions to Double Exposure, her return feels not just welcome but needed. Chloe arrives broken, troubled by memories of a life she didn’t fully experience. Watching her slowly reconnect with Max is one of the most engaging character arcs in the series. Bringing her back doesn’t diminish what came before. If anything, it gives a decade’s worth of heartbreak a meaningful context.

The dual-protagonist setup is a brilliant choice. Max still manipulates the timeline with her Rewind power, traveling back through a single polaroid to uncover the fire’s origin. In contrast, Chloe uses her sharp Backtalk ability to navigate the university's social scene, accessing places Max's academic status can't reach. Switching between them brings wonderful energy to the story — Max's thoughtful introspection balances Chloe's raw, vibrant presence. Their chemistry is not just a strength of the game; it’s its emotional core. Every scene they share buzzes with history, warmth, and an understanding built over years of storytelling.

Reunion doesn’t aim to surpass the original; it offers something more mature and deeper, building on what came before. The central mystery is skillfully crafted, blending supernatural elements with deeply personal revelations in a way that always feels intentional. Every thread introduced in the series, including those left open by Double Exposure, finds resolution here. The ending delivers an emotional payoff that few games in any genre have achieved.

Of course, no review is complete without honesty. There’s no such thing as a “perfect” story. Reunion does have a few minor missteps. Some supporting characters at Caledon don’t get enough screen time to fully develop, leaving a few subplots feeling incomplete. There are occasional texture pop-ins and minor visual issues that remind us the development process wasn’t entirely smooth. A handful of player choices seem overly obvious compared to the series' best moments, slightly reducing the moral complexity that makes these games memorable. These are small issues in an otherwise outstanding experience, and they hardly undermine what Deck Nine has accomplished here.

Life is Strange: Reunion is the conclusion this series has always deserved. It respects its past, resolves its present, and gives Max and Chloe a graceful, loving, and well-earned farewell. It is funny, heartbreaking, surprising, and profoundly human — often all within the same scene. For newcomers, it is an invitation; for veterans, it is a gift. Deck Nine aimed to close one of gaming’s most cherished stories on their own terms, and they succeeded beautifully.

Having grown up with the series it's sad to be at the end of Max's journey. however, It is a journey that I would recommend to others.

There isn't much I can say without spoilers, I would say to go and play the first with as little information as possible. The story in this one has been very enjoyable. One thing I like most about Life is Strange, is the times the game gives you downtime. Moments where you can find a quiet interactable spots, music will play, and the game will just let you be. I found myself able to reflect and found a greater sense of enjoyment because the game allowed me to breathe from all interesting drama happening around Max.

While the writing has it's cringe moments, it has heart and values that follow throughout the series. The biggest being friendship and what would you be willing to sacrifice for those whom you adore and admire? That is the message that resonates with me the most.

In this funky world full of sorrow, doubt, sadness, joy, happiness... we are all trying our best to make sense of it all. Doing it together with friends, no matter how complicated the relationships can get, it worth fighting for. That is what this series manages to convey to an excellent degree.

Thank you to Don't Nod for starting the series, Deck Nine for continuing the series. Thank you for allow me to escape my own life drama and receive a wonderful message throughout it all.

Now it's time for me to jump back into the real world and deal with all the craziness it brings... it really does turn out that Life is Strange.

Generational turnaround from how mid DE was. This puts so much of DE into perspective and is almost mandatory to play if you didn't like it. I'm not a fan of splitting what should be one game into two, but hey if that's how we get those beautiful projects financed then so be it. Luckily both games aren't too expensive compared to others.

I loved the game, especially because I was so nostalgic over Max and Chloe, however I was expecting more story wise.

Other than that I've noticed quite a few visual bugs (wasn't expecting so many, all minor tho), plus some audio issues.

I really hope this is not the last game from the LiS series.

As a Life is Strange fan, Reunion has a lot on its shoulders. Not only does it have the task of continuing Max’s story from Double Exposure, it brings back Chloe in a way that pushes the story forward while confronting the past games. Gameplay is split between Max’s traditional rewind powers and Chloe’s Backtalk, which will please fans of the original game and Before the Storm. One doesn’t overwhelm the other, since both characters and gameplay mechanics contribute to the narrative game overall. The story is very much a nostalgic one as it reunites Max and Chloe the first time in over a decade. While I love the narrative as a whole, I felt that there could’ve been more to it if it wasn’t a fast-paced story that takes place over a couple of days. Some subplots are put on the back burner to focus on the Max/Chloe relationship, which hurts the narrative a bit.

I primarily played the game on the Steam Deck and it has a few hiccups that I’m still trying to figure out. While I’m okay with the frame rate hovering in the 40-60 range, it fluctuates a good number of times. Again, it’s not a big issue personally, but for everyone playing the game on Steam Deck, a good bit of playing with the graphics settings will be needed if you want to maintain a consistent frame rate. At the moment, I have the game running on Performance mode with a max frame rate of 60, but it won’t reach it during gameplay, so I’ll go back to configuring the graphics settings later on and hopefully get a consistent frame rate.

Overall, I love LiS: Reunion. I’ve loved every game in the series, especially all of the Max Caulfield-led games, but this is, for better or worse, a great addition to the series. The gameplay is a welcoming return to past games, simple and clean. On Steam Deck, you’ll have to configure the graphics settings to your preferences. As a LiS fan, Reunion is a solid love letter to the game that started it all and a wonderful send-off to the Max and Chloe story.

Overall: 8.5/10 game - amazing, definitely worth playing!
Story: 9/10 - mysterious, kept me guessing up until the end, answered a lot of questions from Double Exposure
Voice acting: 10/10 both Chloe and Max were amazingly well-acted alongside most of the other characters
Graphics: 8/10 - absolutely stunning but require decent specs to run high settings smoothly without some FPS drops
Gameplay: 7.5/10 - as usual, mechanics for gameplay and Max/Chloe's portions were well utilized, but nothing new. A lot of choices that affect gameplay though!
Music: 7.5/10 - there are some banger tracks! The original sound track can't be compared to, but this one is solid (Daughter returns!)

In my opinion this game is nearly on par with the original Life is Strange - I'd give it a solid 8.5/10. Maybe because I've aged with the characters, but I connected with Max/Chloe the same way as I did when I played the original at 16. The story kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time just as equally as the original, not to mention the return of Chloe gave us a bunch of answers to questions we had in Double Exposure and we got the classic dyamic back. All of the main characters were very well written and voice acting was amazing, I feel they absolutely nailed the feeling of a more older and mature Max and Chloe. You also get punched in the feels with this game just like the original.
There is what seems a large variation in gameplay, there are so many major decisions - not to mention the ones you make before the game starts - that could impact gameplay. I think I could play through this game again and change up a lot of my choices for another unique experience.
Music in this game is solid, loved a few tracks that I will definitely be listening to on repeat. The original LIS soundtrack is still better IMO, but can't compare apples and oranges.
The graphics in this game are amazing as well. The amazing scenery I noticed right off the bat Even with my PC meeting the minimum requirements (gpu wise) I still ran this game on relatively high settings with some FPS drops here and there. but no where near the minimum and still had an enjoyable experience. Not the most optimized game but definitely better than Double Exposure.

As someone who replayed the game and got every achievement, I’m honestly just really happy they chose to continue this story. I’ve always loved Max and Chloe, and coming back to them again feels special. I still remember playing the original Life is Strange about 10 years ago as a teenager, how intense it felt, how emotional it was, and how it actually kept me up at night thinking about it. It wasn’t just a game, it stuck with me. That’s why Life is Strange: Reunion means a lot to me. Seeing their story continue, and finally getting a more hopeful ending... feels deserved after everything they went through.
Sure, not every detail is perfect and there are some things that could’ve been explored more, but honestly? It didn’t ruin the experience for me.
If you care about Max and Chloe’s story, it’s definitely worth playing.
