Underrated work of art.

A psychedelic, dreamy, gritty, alien yet familiar world. Unpredictable, with awesome visuals and sound. You'll almost feel yourself squinting at your own monitor with the lighting effects being so convincing.

Some really clever and talented people were involved in making this game. I feel like this studio is a collaboration of the best of the best and I hope to see more from them.

I managed to 100% it first go as I was exploring everything so thoroughly. The set pieces were so well done, I felt compelled to appreciate the effort that had gone into.... well.... absolutely everything!

Gary Numan's daughter, Persia did a solid performance as the main protagonist and Gary himself even has a cameo. My one peeve with the voicework was that the main cast had London accent, but the brother, Bo was American. It didn't make sense to me, but the kid put in a good performance regardless.

The game may appear short to some, but I found the pacing excellent. Each area said what it needed to say, then you moved on without it feeling a slog. Some creepy stalking segments, but again, you moved on fairly quickly and there's no padding.

There's a demo available, so I knew what I was getting into, and I knew I wanted more! Give it a try.

For full price, Sleep Awake is seriously not worth the money - especially considering the game could be derogatorily named a "Walking Simulator" for 90% of its playtime.

That said, if one manages to acquire it at half price, its fascinating setting, as well as stunning psychedelic visuals & soundtrack make it an enjoyable curated experience, albeit a bit brief.
